With the vast wealth of games available on PC that either aren't available on console or simply look much better on the computer, there are plenty of reasons to connect your PS5 controller to a computer!

Some of the biggest games are dense RPGs with involved controls in-game that may be tricky for those unfamiliar with PC gaming to nail o♏n a keyboard.

Thankfully, Steam's interface makes it easy to sync a PS5 controller to Steam itself to use with games on PC. You can head into Settings in the program itself and choose Controller to recalibrate your inputs, tweak the sensitivity of your joystick🥂s, and so much more.

Connect Via Wired Connection

Arguably the easiest way to hook your PS5 controller up to your PC is to plug the controller into the USB ports via cable.

To do this, you'll need a USB-C to USB-A cable. Your PS5 console came with one - it's the one you use to connect your controller to the PlayStation for charging purposes or to sync it to the console.

The individual controllers, unfortunately, don't come packed with a cable. In this case, any USB-C to USB-A cable is fine - it doesn't need to be Sony-branded.

Simply put the USB-C end into your controller, and then connect the USB-A end into a USB port on the PC.

Connect Via Bluetooth

If you're not one for wires and your PC is able to connect to auxiliary tech via Bluetooth, then you're in luck with your DualSense!

add bluetooth or other device pc settings menu

To sync your PS5 controller to your computer over Bluetooth connection, head into your PC's search bar, and look up Bluetooth. On a PC, this will be labeled as, "Bluetooth and Other Devices Settings" under the System Settings.

You'll need to choose Add Bluetooth or other device, and from here, select the Bluetooth option in the "Add a Device" menu. While your PC is searching for devices, hold down the PlayStation button and Share button to allow your controller to search as well.

Once your DualSense and PC find one another, you'll see the option to add "Wireless Controller" in your PC's Bluetooth menu. Once you select it, you're good to go.
