King of the Dead is a competitive event that requires you to play a ton of Zombies to reach the higher spots on the leaderboard. If you're able to show your dedication and skill, you'll be awarded an array of rare Gobblegums. But before we cover the rewards, let's first💞 go over how this event works.
What Is The King Of The Dead Event?
King of the Dead is a Zombies-exclusive event that runs from July 11 to July 17. Treyarch has added a leaderboard to Zombies that tallies your match performance. As you defeat zombies and complete easter eggs, you'll accumulate a score that will be compared against 30 random players. The higher you rank on that ladder, t🏅he more rewards you'll earn once🧸 the event ends.
This leaderboard isn't explained in-game and seems to have some quirks. When you complete a Zombies match, your score is compared against a random pool of 30 people. Our experience suggests that your score is not compared globally. Score is cumulative across all matches, although we've noticed that playing a new game has a chance to rerank the leaderboard with new opponents. We're not sure what causes this exactly, but jusಞt keep this in mind.
Other players on your leaderboard will also have their positions change as they play the event. For example, if you're in ninth place and the person in tenth plays a few rounds of Zombies, they can take your spot and derank you to spot number ten. If you want to stay near the top, it's best to keep playing Zombies throughout the event.
Leaderboard Score
Your performance in each Zombies match will contribute to your event score on the leaderboard. The more zombies you kill and the more easter eggs you co🀅mplete, the more score you'll accumulate. Exact values are listed below.

King Of The Dead Rewards
When King of the Dead ends, you'll receive a bundle of Gobblegums based on your ranking on the leaderboard. The higher you rank, the more rewards you'll receive. Ranking higher than top 30 will award all Gobblegums under you as well. For example, if you're in the top🐓 20, you'll get all top 20, 25, and 30 rewards.
