In response, Square Enix reportedly said that it is "aware" of Clair Obscur: Exped𝔍ition 33's success, and that it considers command-based RPGs to be Square Enix's "origin and foundation". In addition, it said that it values the genre and plans to "continue delivering games in this style in the future".
