For a while, it stood as on꧑e of Metacritic's highest-rated games … of all-time. That was before the Swi🐈tch 2 versions of both Legend of Zelda games decided to make their presence felt.

, Charlie Cox, who lent his voice for the role of Gustave, revealed at a Q&A during GalaxyCon that he hasn't actually played Expedition 33 to see his character brought to life. Actually, Cox hasn't play♎ed any games in a long time.

"I remember being in the studio and thinking, 'This is beautiful, the visuals are extraordꦺinary,'" Cox said via a transcription from GamesRadar. "They've come a long way since Mario 64, which is probably the last computer game I played."

For those keeping track, Mario 64 was released in 1996, or 29 years ago.💦 By our math, Cox would've been 🐼14 years old at that time, and still hadn't landed his first professional role.

"I wanna play the game," he added. "I ꧃need to play the game. I need to get a console first. I feel like a fraud because I just did the voice. But it's so cool, I'm so happy for these guys. They're not like a big company that makes a ton of games. And I hear it's a front-runner to win game of the year. It's really cool."

Someone needs to hook up Charlie with a console, a lifetime subscription to either PS Pl✨us or Game Pass and a copy of Expedition 33. Maybe even get him a Switch 2 so he can see how much Mario has evolved since 1996.
