Some parts of Clair Obscur'𝔍s plot don't quite add up.

17

However, because Clair Obscur takes such a fresh approach to its party-building, it can make even t🎶he most veteran RPG fans a bit confused about where to start with building these characters. The skill trees are sprawling, and it's tricky to know which path to commit to, but here are some early-game skills to make the opening hours easier to handle.

10 Shatter

Gustave - 5 AP

Shatter ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Compared to the other 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Act 1 party members, Gustave is one of the easier to build thanks to his relatively simple power. 𝓀In spite of this, there are still pl♐enty of options for how to build him.

Out of all the party members, Gustave is one of the best for breaking enemies and stunning them, so focusing on high-power abilities like is a great way to optimize him. Shatter is one of the rare early-game multi-target skill✃s, and it🍌 has the added bonus of filling his Overcharge meter if it manages to break the enemy.

9 Fleu൩ret Fury

Maelle - 6 AP

Fleuret Fury ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Like Gustave, Maelle's gimmick is one of the easier character systems to understand. While switching between Defensive and Offensive stances makes c🎶ombat ✤a little more simple for Maelle, you'll want to get into Virtuose Stance as often as possible to keep her damage output up.

The best ability to keep Maelle in this stance is . On top of its massive damage, as wel🔥l as its potential to break enemies, the skill has the added effect of keeping Maelle in Virtuose stan🐻ce if she's already in it.

8 Healing Light ൲

Lune - 3 AP

Healing Light ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

As the second character to join your party, Lune is one of the best characters to build as a healer, at least in the early-game, and one of the quickest ways to do this is to unlock on the skill tree.

Since you'll 🧔have𝓰 access to fewer healing tints, healing abilities are indispensable, and Healing Light is one of the best thanks to its simplicity and effectiveness. While trading two Earth Stains for a 0 AP cost is a nice bonus, it's by no means required since 3 AP is relatively affordable. On top of this, the Light Stain you get for using the ability, as well as the bonus of dispelling status effects, makes this even better than simply using a tint.

7 Rush

Sciel - 3 AP

Rush ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Part of the reason why Sciel can be seen as one of the more complicated c🅘haracters to build, especially when you're still in the early-game of Clair Obscur, is because of how she can be built in quite a few different ways.

Both her Fortell and Sigil systems work well together once you know what you're doing, but it's quite a steep learning curve, and then there's the decision to either build her as a support character or as more attack-focused. If you prefer the idea of using Sciel as a support character, then unlocking is a perfect choice since it immediately gives 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:all your active party members more frequent turns in combat, even if they a♋ren't an agility-focused character. ꧙

6 Thermal Transfer 🔴

Lune - 2 AP

Thermal Transfer ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Lune has the potential to be one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most powerful party members in Clair Obscur, but the trade-off for this is having to manage her Stains, while also funding the high🐷 AP cost of her most powerful abilities.

If you're using Maelle and Lune in the same party, then investing in is a great way to keep Lune's AP high. If an enemy is burned, the low AP cost skill will give you a generous 4 AP just for using it, and if you have two Earth Stains, it lets her go again right after. However, it's worth noting you can't repeat your turn twice in a row usin🦄g this method.

5 🌄 Rain Of Fire 🧜

Maelle - 5 AP

Rain of Fire ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Maelle is one of the easiest characters to build into a high-damage-output machine, thanks to having some of the best attack skills in the game, but also for being able to stack layers and layers of burn onto enemies, 🌳making it so s𝕴he's dealing damage when it's not even her turn.

is an ability you'll want to beeline for on the skill tree, since it's essentially the inverse to her defa꧑ult Spark ability, and having the pair gives you an easy set of synergistic skills. If Maelle is 🐬in Defensive stance, she can use Rain of Fire to stack extra burns, and then switch to Offensive, and if she's in Offensive, she can do the inverse with Spark. While you can complicate Maelle's skillset later in the game, this is an easy early-game strategy.

4 Powerful

Gustave - 3 AP

Powerful ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

Gustave is one of the best characters for dealing large bursts of damage, especially early on i෴n the game when the other characters are still building up their skills. However, when he has low AP and can't deal much damage, then having a support skill available is a good way to use an otherwiꦅse wasted turn.

is a simple but effective ability, applying the Powerful attack buff to all active party members for three turns. On top of this, he'll get between zero and two Overcharge charges by using the ability, a small bonus to keep up his damage output on top of the buff. 🙈

3 Wildfire

Lune - 4 AP

Wildfire ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

When you first ad🌳🐟d Lune to your party, her tutorial will show off how you can get more damage from her default fire damage ability by using Ice Stains, and while that is a useful skill combo for the first few fights, you can get a quick but effective damage upgrade with Wildfire.

The ability deals an impressive medium fire damage to all enemies on the field, and also stacks three burn⛦s on top as well, perfect if Maelle is burning enemies too. On top of this, if you have two Ice Stains, you'll get a significant buff to Lune's damage.

2 ෴ Grim Harvest 🍸

Sciel - 5 AP

Grim Harvest ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

While it's tempting to want to build Sciel to either focus solely on support or attacking for the sake of simplicity, to fully harness her potential, it's best to overlap these two sides with a few skills, even if you stil🐻l lean one way or another.

These Pictos and their Luminas are practically must-haves🐽 in🐼 Clair Obscur.

One of the best ways to make Sciel an effective healer, without compromising her damage output, is with . Just the base effect oꦅf dealing medium dark damage and healing all allies by 30 percent is fantastic, but if you set up her target with layers ไof Fortell, you can get an impactful extra five percent heal for each party member for each stack of Fortell consumed.

1 Percee

Maelle - 5 AP

Percee ability description from Clair Obscur Expidition 33.

A reason why Maelle is such a powerful party member is how she manages to support other party members with passive effects, while also dealing plenty of damage herself, and a perfect example of this is the skill.

Plenty of Maelle'൲s skills can set up Mark, and even if you don't use these, you can get the effect w💛ith strategic use of Pictos and Luminas. Percee takes full advantage of Mark to deal even more damage than the usual buff the effect gives, and the best part is, you can get this massive damage with only 2 AP if Maelle is already in Virtuose Stance.
