Chernobylite has gone under some pretty substantial updates, and though it may still be in Early Access it’s one step closer to full release.

Chernobylite: Loading The Crossbow With Another Bolt

First and foremost Chernobylite is not really supposed to be an action game. It’s more about exploration and survival, ൲but gunplay does come in handy ඣat times. Though the biggest drawback is the loud noise popping off a shot creates. To counter that, use the crossbow.

A recent addℱition to the game, the Crossbow is cಌompletely silent and highly modifiable, able to take down patrolling NAR soldiers with ease. Though slow to reload and a little expensive to craft, it’s highly recommended as staying silent in the zone can often mean the difference between life and death.

14 Don’t Run In Straight Lines 💃

Chernobylite: NAR Soldier Patrolling Around The Zone

Early on in Chernobylite you’re not going to have a lot of ways to defend yourself, so tu꧋rning tail and running away whilst you still can is often your only option. However, an interesting note about how monsters and the NAR marksmen handle targeting is that they can’t handle a moving target too well.

Most mutants will charge or leap at you in a straight line, whilst♒ snipers or soldiers will stand in one place and shoot at a static point. Slipping in some zig-🥀zags, as simple as that may sound, can help quite a bit as shots zip past your head or screeching claws come within inches of sending you back to your bunker empty-handed.

This does change as the game goes on the zone becomes more corrupted and the NAR increases its presence. But for b﷽eginners, this means that unless you’re progressing the story, the city is going to be fairly quiet for quite a while. So take advantage of this and stockpile your resources before Pripyats security sꦰtarts to get clamped down on.
