Saying that there are only five weapons available in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Chernobylite, the recent survival horror release from the development team at The Farm 51, is a tad on the misleading side. Between a crafting system that allows you to create healing items, ammo, and of course, weapon modifications, the customizability makes the variety of firearms available through the game's 16-hour run time feels near-limitless - rather than limited to five.
With that said, those modifications are all based on the game's five-firearm weapon wheel, allowing the choice between a shotgun, revolver, assault rifle, railgun, and toward the end of the game, the Molecular Plasma Thrower. Each of these weapons, even at their base models, stand out as diverse tools with the potential to handle any situation Chernobylite can throw at you. But between their differences in power, speed, accuracy, and exclusive modifications, only one of these weapons can be crowned the best.
5 Revolver
Chernobylite's revolver is a lot like walking up to a vending machine and getting water. It's essential to continue living, plentiful in nature, and even uniquely enjoyable in highly specific circumstances, such as after a long jog - but with other options available, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:it just seems so... unexciting.
If there were a default weapon in Chernobylite, something similar to the pistol from 2016's Doom or the bomb glove from the original Ratchet and Clank, it would be the revolver. Extensive ammo available and will definitely do the job in a pinch provided the job isn't too daunting but isn't going to be your first choice of firearm heading into combat. With its low rate of damage relative to the other weapons available, the revolver stands out as nothing more than a 'break glass in case of emergency' weapon.
4 Assault Rifle 𒀰
The assault rifle in Chernobylite is, well, an assault rifle. The perfect weapon if you're anything like me, without the ability to aim and need to unload an entire high-capacity magazine just to land one shot. Similar to the revolver, the assault rifle's main perk is being a trusty companion throughout most of the campaign. It's one of the game's best options for tackling multiple threats at a time, but wiওthout the added perk of being a very high-damage f✃irearm.
Some of the modifications available, such as the burst trigger or the sniper barrel, will help add a bit of punch to the rifle but will do so at the cost of improving the weapon's other attributes. Better than the revolver, but falls short when compared to the literal and figurative heavy hitters of Chernobylite.
3 Shotgun
The shotgun is the final of the three main weapons that you will spend the large duration of your time in Chernobylite with and stands out as the strongest weapon of the bunch, in the most literal sense of the word imaginable. This won't be the first weapon of choice for those that prefer steady combat from a distance, granted.
In order to use the shotgun at its peak capacity, you will need to be ready to charge into battle headfirst and fire your weapon from point-blank range. If you are willing to do that, the shotgun will reward your bravery with a powerful blast that clearly outpaces anything the revolver or assault rifle can bring to the table. With the exception of range, the only real drawback the shotgun has is a relatively low magazine capacity, which can be addressed heavily through modifications without the worry of neglecting the weapon's other stats.
2 Rail Gun
Thank you for bearing through the opening act. Now, we can get to the list's two main events, starting with the rail gun. Rather than being discovered throughout the course of the game like the previous three weapons, the rail gun must first be crafted. And for the added effort, you will be rewarded with the game's DLC weapon capable of tearing through enemies with high-damage charged shots.
Ammo can be an issue for the rail gun, but much like the shotgun, magazine size can be addressed through the upgrade stations available for this heavy-powered machine. In fact, upgrade stations can help make this gun even stronger with the double-barrel upgrade. With the allure of exclusivity as a DLC weapon and the appeal of a damage-dealing force, the rail gun is about as perfect a weapon as you can find. But it doesn't have the same it-factor as the game's best weapon.
1 ﷽ Molecular Plasma Thrower ꧒
Let's face it, this one is essentially a formality. As inevitable as Thanos. The Molecular Plasma Thrower is more than a blast of power in the form of a massive explosive shot that illuminates the entire screen. It's more than iconic to the game of Chernobylite itself, standing out as the campaign's only truly unique weapon. More than anything, the molecular plasma thrower is just fun to use.
You can face your enemies with a shotgun, or the assault rifle, and if you're good enough you'll probably come out on top. But what those weapons or any of Chernobylite's base weapons don't have that the Molecular Plasma Thrower does, is the aura of satisfaction that lingers after pulling the trigger and looking at the path of devastation you've just created. For that, it's difficult to deny the Plasma Thrower its rightful spot atop the throne of Chernobylite's weapons.
