168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cassette Beasts sports a cool gang of characters who can accompany you on your adventures to defeat Archangels and prove yourself to the Rangers. The thing is, you can only take one with you at a time. Now, one's more than none, and none is what most Pokemon-like games would have us prepped for, so it's still pretty cool that we'll always have a partner.

It's just that, again, it can be tough narrowing it all down. That's why we've made this list - think of it as our 'informed opinion piece' on the best partners. We'll back it up as best we can, but at the end of the day, it's opinion; feel free to take whomever!

6 Barkley

Cassette Beasts Barkley

Barkley is... a dog. He's a good dog. In common vernacular, one might say he's a good boy, and one would not be mistaken. Is there a deeper mystery to him? We're going purposefully light on spoilers in this list, but let's just say what you see is more or less what you'll get here.

In battle, Barkley's default Signature Tape is a Pombomb, who is... also a dog. A fiery dog. A good dog, a good boy, we feel like we're treading familiar ground already here. In short, take him with you, and you'll enjoy his barks; just don't expect any powerful metacommentary.

5 Meredith

Cassette Beasts Meredith

If you gravitate toward snarky characters who find it difficult to maintain conversations, Meredith will stand out right off the bat. Her antisocial antics may put others off, but either way, she's a good person at heart. Unless you romance her, you won't get a ton of interaction that lets her open up in full, though Meredith's own interactions with other party members when you walk into the Gramophone Cafe can sometimes make up for it.

Meredith's Signature Tape, Kittelly, isn't much to write home about at first. But once it reaches its Cat-5 evolution, it's a force to be reckoned with. In general, we find Electric types quite powerful, with their Conductive debuffs wreaking havoc on unprepared foes.

4 Eugene

Cassette Beasts Eugene

Eugene's a cool fellow, through and through. He's the passionate one, the one who can't stand still when he recognizes injustice. The writing in Cassette Beasts is clever enough to know when to lampshade such cliches, and when to let them play out; in Eugene's case, his dialogue is crisp enough that he seldom feels like a tired trope despite the familiar pretense. Maybe it helps that his archrivals are... undead real estate agents, which is even cooler than it sounds.

As much as we enjoy Eugene, he's outclassed in radness by those who follow. The Plastic-type Clocksley is Eugene's Signature Tape, strong but slow, stalwart and defensive. A stock hero, basically.

3 Kayleigh

Cassette Beasts Kayleigh

As the gal who finds you washed ashore at the start of the game, Kayleigh is with you the longest out of anybody in Cassette Beasts. Initial recruits in RPGs can sometimes be bland; the more eccentric personalities are left for later, and you've got more of a 'BFF' archetype to play with by comparison. Kayleigh has that vibe, to an extent, and we weren't enamored with her at first.

What changes? Her personal quest, 'I Ran So Far Away', is a terrific exploration of the dangers of blind idol worship. There's a lot more to Kayleigh than meets the eye, and seeing her confront her past is a highlight. Her Signature Tape, Sirenade, will make for an excellent ranged attack partner once it evolves into the fast-paced and multitargeting Decibelle.

2 Viola

Cassette Beasts Viola

What makes Viola so fun is her distinctly not-from-around-here style. The game doesn't beat around the bush with it, so we'll go ahead and say it outright - she is, quite literally, straight out of a Shakespeare play. The writers could have given her dialogue an overly ambitious accent that might easily descend into tedium, so thank goodness they keep it pretty chill.

Viola's firm sense of conviction is a blessing, since Cassette Beasts, for all its narrative ambition, just doesn't have the time to dedicate to its cast that a massive sprawl like Persona might achieve. As a result, it's refreshing how readily she accepts that she's born from a tale, and quickly and ably counters that for all she knows, in her world you're the Shakespeare character. Her Tape, Spirouette, is a swift supporter who can bog the enemy down with debuffs, boost you with buffs, 🅘and keep the tempo tidy.

1 Felix

Cassette Beasts Felix

Felix rules. You find him looking for something in the middle of the wilderness with a couch hanging sideways right by a cave, and really, in retrospect the haphazard oddity of his hangout spot says it all. He fancies himself a fantastic creator of a certain French art form, and we were stunned by how nifty his demonstration was💝. In fact, sometimes we swing by his house just to see it in action again.

But that's the tip of the iceberg. Things go really wild for this poor guy after we start his personal quest. A half-angel, half-demon, catgirl. Does that sound overly anime? In all the worst ways? Trust us, Felix is just as embarrassed, but he was 12 years old once, and drew just such a character, and now she's real. What follows is pure hilarity that marks Felix - and his catgirl friend - as our favorites.

It doesn't hurt that Felix's Signature Tape, Brushroom, is a terrific Grass-type who - with just a bit of setup - can obliterate all sorts of foes. Grass-types are tenacious, and very self-sufficient, so your own monster can go to work without babysitting in the slightest.
