Brotato is a top-down 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:roguelike action shooter that plays like a tighter, more frenetic Vampi💮re Survivors and looks like classic Newgrounds, à la Alien Hominid or Castle Crashers. You’re a six-armed (most of the time) potato annihilating hordes of alien enemies in short, but intense waves. Yeah, it’s that kind of game.
It’s easy to start, mostly intuitive and nails-tough, much like other titles in the wake of VS. And like most roguelikes, it also leaves you to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fend for yo♛urself in terms of learning. While this mostly works, there are some things they should inform you of in the game so it’s a smoother experience. If you don’t want to gဣet caught o𒁃ff-guard in all the mayhem, here are some things you should know before starting Brotato.
6 You Can Activate Manual Aim ꦜ
If you just jump into the game without checking the options, you might find 🍷Brotato to be similar to Vampire Survivors in one way: you don’t manually aim. However, looking in the options menu yields an important toggle: Manual Aim.
Switching this on turns the game into a twin-stick shooter, with your left stick (or mouse) controlling the direction of your attack. This allows for more precision gameplay, but the game’s own auto-aim does a good enough job of targeting enemies that, if you want to focus on dodging i⛎nstead, you can leave Manual Aim off.
5 You Can Check Your Stats ♓
There are a lot of stats in the game and there’s no tutorial to tell 𓆉you what each one does. Some are straightforward, like your HP and Speed, some are easy to suss out, like Armor (damage mitigation), Dodge (chance to avoid damage), or Melee/Range Damage.
However, a lot of stats either aren’t immediately obvious in their effects or how the numbers correlate to your actual performance. For example, Range seems like an obvious one, but right off the bat, it's not obvious that a higher range means slower melee attacks. If you want a closer look at how each stat works, mouse over (or highlight if you’re on a controller) them in the Shop between waves.
4 💟 Negative Stats Affect You Negatively
This is one of those things that sounds obvious if written out, but in the world of gaming, more often than not, zero is the lowest number and anything below that is usually not counted. Not so in Brotato, which will apply the negative numbers tꦗo🐭 whatever relevant stat.
Your Melee or Ranged damage is below zero? Then the relevant modifier is applied and you do less damage. Your armor in the negatives? Prepare to take extra damage. This isn’t consistently applied, however. Like with Dodge, which can go below zero but doesn’t make you any easier to hit, or HP Regeneration, which doesn't hurt you no matter how low it gets. All negative modifiers can be brought up to positive numbers if you invest enough in that stat.
3 Save The Fruits ๊
Those weird, unappetizing lumps that drop from trees are Fruits, and while they're not the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:best-looking, they are one few methods of healing in the game. Picking them up at ful👍l health does nothing, so you should try n💮ot to since it’s a waste of resources.
The game makes it easier for you by having them magnetized to you wꦇhen you are injured, but it will still let you pick them up at full health. Of course, dodging enemy hordes is a major part of the game and if it comes down to running through a Fruit or getting mobbe✱d, you should just take the Fruit and eat the loss.
2 🧸 Weapon Basics
Every weapon has at least one Keyword, a stat bonus which becomes active if you have at least two instances of it in your weapons, and g𓂃ets stronger for every instance of that keyword for up to six instances. You can have any number of Keywords active, which makes weapons with extra Keywords valuable, since they allow yo♊u to build multiple set bonuses and diversify your build.
This is ultimately a tactical decision, since focusing certain Keywords to get the six piece bonus can be pot💙ent depending on your build. Also, you can combine duplicate weapons of the same rarity to get a weapon one rarity higher, but keep in mind this removes an instance of the Keyword.
1 Difficulty Is Up To🅺 You ♓
There’s a certain stereotype about video games and gamers that they tend to gatekeep when it comes to difficulty. There’s a certain veneration when it comes to difficult games and some perceived prestige when it comes to those who can conquer them, and as a result those who can’t are seen as lesser. Which is funny, because a lot of well-known, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:well-loved games have adaptive di🌟fficulty adjustment.
Difficulty elitism is not part of Brotato's design. Yes, the game can be punishingly difficult as is, but it has accessibility options that allow you to tweak the health, damage, and speed of enemies for an experience that is suitable for you. Unlike other games that may mock you or even lock you out of awards and unlocks, the game lets you set your own pace without punishing you. If the game is somehow too easy for you, you can also increase all these stats at your own peril.
