To start the Trial of Instinct, after the main story is complete in either Normal or True Vault Hunter mode, go to Eden-6 and the main area known as the Brooding Hollow. Fast travel to Knotty Peak, as this w⭕ill be the clos🔯est spot to where you can accept the mission for the Trial.

After arriving at the Jakobs lodge, take the elevator down and either drive or jump off the ledge to the left for a shortcut to the North area of the Hollow. Then, head to the stairs left of The Anvil and you'll reach a glowing Eridian stand.

This is the same spot where, in the main story, you first spotted the line system that you had to jump on to enter the local prison to help rebuild the town of Reliance.

This stand will offer the Trial, and add a new location to the Fast Travel system for the Trial itself. After teleporting to it, reach the starting point and meet a Guardian named the Overseer.

He marks the start of the Trial, as the barrier behind him is the starting line. After kitting up with the machines nearby, and when y🎀ou feel𒅌 ready, accept the mission to start the Trial.

The Trial of Instinct is separated into four zones, all blocked by barriers until all enemies in the preceding zone have been defeated. The enemies within the Trial of Instinct are all Eden-6 adjacent, so except plenty of Jabbers before fighting the final boss.

The Trial of Instinct has added loot rewards if completed quickly, as shown in the top right.

Fight through each area, clearing all enemies to drop the barrier and move on to the next. After doing this three times, the final zone will be for the boss fight against the Tyrant of Instinct.

The Tyrant of Instinct isn't a complex boss like others in Borderlands 3, instead just sporting a large health pool and high melee damage. In comparison to other Trials, the Trial of Instinct is easier but instead focuses on defeating enemies quickly for better rewards.

When the Tyrant of Instinct is defeated, the timer will stop and the chest to the left of the Tyrant will be available. The Overseer will comment on your performance before disappearing, allowing for you to open the chest and finally end the Trial.
