There are very few PlayStation exclusives from the last two console generations yet to launch on PC. Reports emerged thi🎐s week that Gravity Rush🉐 2 is being ported to PS5 and PC, an underrated gem I assumed would be lost to the annals of history after its online services were shut down. If that makes the cut, we’re getting dangerously close to a Knack remaster. So why doesn’t Sony turn its attention to one of the greatest games of all time tha🐭t has still never left the confines of the PS4?

The game I’m talking about is, of course, Bloodb🃏orne, FromSoftware’s masterpiece which was released on PS4 in 2015. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently confirmed that the rights still lie with Sony. So any new release, remaster, or even a remake must be approved by the console giant. Despite it still having a v𒉰ocal and passionate fanbase, no effort has been made to spruce Bloodborne up for the modern era. With a Ghost of Tsushima PC port confirmed, the patience of fans is beginning to wear thin. They just want to fear the old blood all over again.

Given we’ve seen remasters of the first two Dark Souls games and a Demon’s Souls remake from the folks over a🌳t Bluepoint Studios, the silence surrounding Bloodborne is quite surprising.

Not a State of Play goes by without rampant rumours of a Bloodborne remaster, with some insiders promising for the umpteenth time that this is the one. After being let down for what feels like decades at this po𝐆int, I’ve given up hope. Besides, I can just download the game on my PS5 and play it w🌊henever I like. Yes, I’ve unlocked all the trophies. Yes, it still runs at 30 frames per second with obnoxious frame pacing. Yes, its loading times aren’t great. But beneath all the shortcomings, it’s not like the gothic classic isn’t available on what many consider their primary gaming platform. So, shouldn’t we stop asking for something we already have?

It’s Time For A Bloodborne Remaster On PS5 and PC

Bloodborne PS5 Port

The same logic can be applied to the majority of remasters in recent years though, more so in the PlayStation ecosystem than any other. The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone didn’t need the PS5 updates or PC ports they inevitably received, but they happened anyway. What makes Bloodborne any different? The admittedly polite demands being made by fans right now are reasonable, and if anything, feel like a surefire success if Sony were to capitalise upon th⭕em.

Maybe the company is ꦰwary about touching or updating a masterpiece withou꧑t the blessing of FromSoftware, or it merely has bigger fish to fry with its predictable sequels and mountain of live service failures. Who knows, but it sure feels like a missed opportunity right now. Ever since its release, Bloodborne has been a consistent focus for performance mods within the community as fans try to fix many of its original problems. They are easy to overlook in light of how incredible the game is, but a remaster could elevate it to new heights.

Bloodborne: The Hunter And Eileen The Crow Taking On The Cleric Beast,

Imagine a PS5 version with an overhauled user interface, enhanced visuals, new trophies, built in downloadable content, and perhaps some oth🎀er bonuses thrown in for good measure. It’d not only remove previous technical shackles, but put this game in front of a new audience as Elden Ring continues to dominate the conversation. Bloodborne can stand alongside it, while a PC version ౠwould go down a storm with the potential for greater technical expression along with a mod scene I have no doubt would flourish. So what is Sony waiting for?
