Orospina, Lady Embroiderer: Phase One Guide

Phase one of the Orospina encounter is the calm before the storm, having her only utilize four attacks instead of the arsenal she pulls out🐽 in the second phase. But before we get to that, we must tackle this stage of the fight first, which you can learn more about in the sections below!

Lightning Dash

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Lightning-Dash

Lightning Dash is the move she will almost always open the encounter off with. This has her move to the edge of the arena before imbuing her rapier with lightning and dashing to the opposite side of the stage in the blink of an eye.

The trick here is to wait until she vanishes before jumping, as jumping too early will land you directly on top of her as she travels across the arena, resulting in you taking lots of damage in return. The moment you see her take off, jump slightly forward, and you will clear her entirely.

Upon landing, you can turn around and quickly reach her to land several attacks before she attempts her following action. We recommend going for three to four hits here. Any more will be a bit too greedy and might be punished if she pulls out the 'correct' move.

Standard Jab

In addition to her lightning-imbued rapier, Orospina will occasionally toss out a standard jab with her rapier without charging it up or anything. You can tell this attack is coming when she cocks her arm back, causing her upper body to twist away from you slightly.

When you see her take this stand, you can leap up and over her, placing you firmly behind her. If you do this, you can land many uncontested hits on her, so we recommend doing this every time. Additionally, you can also Evade through the attack, but that only nets you a couple of follow-up attacks in return!

Crescent Slashes

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Crescent-Slashes

Orospina also has a Crescent-shaped Slash, which seems to be a theme amongst most of the bosses. Nonetheless, this attack is telegraphed by Orospina flashing her attack pattern on the screen briefly before she vanishes into thin air and blinking back into existence to carry out the attack.

Wherever you see the 'phantom slashes,' she will spawn in and carry out the Crescent Slashes, so avoid those areas at all costs. There will be three Crescent shapes that appear near the middle of the arena, so try and make your way to either end of the stage before her attacks go off.

After she performs her final Crescent Slash, Dash toward the middle of the stage to get two or three free hits, the☂n go back on the defensiv🍷e for her next attack!

Twirling Leap/Lightning Arrows

Her final attack in the first phase consists of two parts. The first is a harmless Twirling Leap that will take her from one end of the arena to the complete opposite end, having her land on a small piece of silk in the air.

Once she's perched on her piece of silk, she will fire off three Lightning Arrows toward you simultaneously, covering a sizable range. To avoid this attack, make your way toward the center of the arena when you see her perform her Twirling Leap.

When you're in the center of the stage, wait for her to fire the Lightning Arrows, then Evade through the one in the middle to avoid taking damage entirely. You can get roughly two jumping hits in after this, and we suggest not going for more!

Orospina, Lady Embroiderer: Phase Two Guide

The Penitent One defeating Orospina, Lady Embroiderer, in Blasphemous 2

With the first phase out of the way, you might be thinking this encounter is pretty easy, and... you might want to hold off on that train of thought for just a moment. While the second phase isn't terribly grueling, it's definitely more than a few notches higher than the last round.

This phase has a whopping seven attacks and two passive actions that will crank t𒐪he difficulty to much greater heights than what was present in the first phase. This is still far easier than some of the previous bosses, but it will still be a hard-fought battle!

High Tempo

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Tempo-Change

After you've whittled Orospina's health down to roughly half, she will hop onto a small silk foothold in the middle of the arena, and the beat of the music will begin THUMPING faster and more intensely than ever before. We've made her very angry.

This entire second phase will have a blazingly fast pace, so༒ be prepared to dodge like no tomorrow and get hits in whe𒅌never you can!

Enhanced Lightning Arrows

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Lightning-Projectiles-Enhanced

In addition to the significantly faster pace, Orospina will perform some of the same actions as she did in phase one but slightly enhanced. The Lightning Arrows are a perfect example, as she no longer does her majestic Twirling Leap beforehand. She just leaps onto a silk foothold outside the arena and launches five Lightning Arrows at you.

To avoid this, we suggest attempting to make your way to the opposite end of the stage and quickly Evade back toward Orospina and through the Lightning Arrow that is about to hit you.

If you can't make it that far in time, you can try Guarding the arrows, but they come out incredibly fast, so we don't typically recommend it.

Enhanced Crescent Slashes

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Crescent-Slashes-Onslaught

Another enhanced attack of Orospina's in phase two in her Crescent Slashes, which has her cover a broader area that goes in an arc-like motion, leaving only a few spaces safe for you to stand.

Here, you can either crouch in the center of the arena to avoid the incoming slashes, or you can make your way to the far right or left edges of the stage. We prefer the former method, as it puts you in the most optimal spot to land several attacks on Orospina when she lands!

Overhead Waning Slash

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Overhead-Waning-Slash

Next up is a new attack for Orospina, having her perform a Waning Slash covering a Crescent-like shape that starts from the ground and ends above her head. This attack is tricky to get a read on, as she performs it blazingly fast.

If you see Orospina run toward you, she will almost always perform the Overhead Waning Slash. To dodge this, you must Evade through her to get to the side where the Waning Slash fades, allowing you to avoid taking damage.

You will also be placed directly behind her, enabling you to land several uncontested hits as a result, making this move extremely punishable once you know what you're looking for!

Clone Creation/Clone Lightning Arrows

Once you whittle Orospina's health down roughly 3/4th of the way, she will create two Clones in the center of the stage that will quickly perform an upward slash before jumping on a silk foothold high above the outside of the stage. One Clone will be on the left, the other on the right.

When they're high above the stage, both Clones will fire a set of three Lightning Arrows simultaneously, making six total for you to dodge. Make your way to either end of the stage and Evade through the incoming arrows to resolve this mechanic.

From here, the Clones will drop down slightly lower and fire off three more Lightning Arrows simultaneously, giving you six more arrows to dodge. The spread is much tighter this time, but the previous strategy will also work fine here.

Finally, the Clones will drop further down and will fire off five Enhanced Lightning Arrows a piece and simultaneously, giving you a whopping ten Arrows to dodge. This part is a nightmare, and the previous strategy won't work here. To resolve this, Evade toward the arena's edge through the Arrows, then quickly turn around and Guard the other set. It's an incredibly tight window, but that's the best method we've found!

Orospina: Reappearance

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Reappearance

After the Clones are donꦰe bombarding you with Lightning Arrows, Orospina will finally Reappear, allowing you to deal damage to her again. She will maintain the same attacks from the start of this phase, but her Lightningꦺ Arrows and Crescent Slash will be further enhanced. You can learn more about that below!

Ultimate Lightning Arrows

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Ultimate-Lighting-Projectiles

As mentioned above, Orospina's Lightning Arrows will be further enhanced in the back half of this phase, having her shoot seven Arrows at you simultaneously. To dodge this, move to the opposite end of the stage and Evade or Guard the incoming arrows. This should have you avoid taking damage, allowing you to run up to Orospina and get a few hits in!

Ultimate Crescent Slashes

Blasphemous-2-Orospina-Lady Embroiderer-Crescent-Slashes-Onslaught-Enhanced

As for her Crescent Slashes, they are also enhanced even further, this time having her travel across the entire length of the arena. To avoid this attack, wait to see the flash of the pattern, then Evade into Orospina after she performs her first Crescent Slash.

This will place you behind her, allowing you to follow behind her. After she finishes her final Crescent Slash, you can land several uncontested hits for considerable damage. Then it's just a matter of repeating everything above until she's defeated!
