Preparations For The Stone Vanguard
This is another one of those bosses where the setup is pretty simple. Prioritize armor with the highest defense, and a staff with the highest attack. There are no unique gimmicks that you ca✃n take advantage of with other equipment, so focus exclusively on the stats.
For your Spirit, I'd recommend going for something that hits hard, like the Wandering Wight, and staying away from the ranged spirits. You won't want to fight the Stone Vanguard at a distance.
However, to give yourself a big advantage, you should rock up to this battle with a few Tiger Subdu🎶ing Pellets and Evil Repelling Medicaꦫment. Th♑ese will help you take less damage while 🐬dishing more out.

The Stone Vanguard's Attacks
The Stone Vanguard has a number of moves that it will use to try to get you to keep your distance - with the Ground Slam being its 🍸most notable of the bunch, as it makes a large swath of the ground dangerous to stand on - it will then pelt you with its ranged attacks when you are far away, or leap a💯t you with one of three attacks. That is its primary strategy.
While the Ground Slam causes a very large section of the ground to explode, it is almo🦋st all in front of the Stone Vanguard. So, circling behind the go🌊lem is an effective way to avoid getting hit by this attack.
When it is throwing boulders at you, or summoning other golems, you are going to need to stay quick on your feet. S▨o, don't get caught charging a heavy attack. The Stone Vanguard will be applying too much pre⛎ssure for that to be viable.
In general, it is better to be close to the Stone Vanguard, than at a distance. Its close-range attacks are all telegraphed, and it is easy enough to side-step them and keep pressing with your own offense.
When you get behind the Stone Vanguard๊ it will do one of two things; it will either perform a wide backhand attack, or it will perform a vertical version of its pounc꧂ing attack. If you see the Stone Vanguard leap into the air, just perform a dash away from the spot where the golem lept from, and you will be fine.

How To Beat The Stone Vanguard
I feel like I already tipped my hand in the previous sections, but the Stone Vanguard is another boss that you will want to attack the booty of. At range🐻, he will apply too much pressure for you to be particularly effective, not to mention he may pounce on you at any moment. His golem-summoning attack is definitely his most potent ability, and he is more likely to use it when you are distant.
Meanwhile, his best close-up attack is his Ground Slam, and it doesn't hit far behind him. When you are attacki𒈔ng the Stone Vanguard's rear, you will only have to worry about its slow backhand attack, which is easily dodged, and its vertical leap attack, which can be tou🦋gh to deal with at first, until you realize that dodging away from it will give you enough distance to avoid taking damage.
Additionally, if you land your standard combo on the Stone Vanguard after immobilizing it, you will be able to stagger it, allowing you to get even more hits 🐻in. The answer to almost everything else it does is to circle behind it and smack it in the💛 butt.
