Constant Rumors Impacted Wukong's Release

Previously, it was rumored that the game was a PS5 exclusive, or at least a timed exclusive. While there was never any true concrete information, Micro൩soft made the rare statement back in June when the game was indefinitely ܫdelayed on Xbox for supposed optimization purposes. .

"We’re excited for the launch of Black Myth Wukong on Xbox Series X|S and are working with Game Science to bring t♑he game to our platforms. We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the center of that."

Things weren't helped a few months later, when, in a Digital Foundry video, it was relayed that a potential Series S release woul🐟d have to be massively downgraded. The game apparently struggled to maintain a constant 30 fps, along with visual downgrades on a PC with similar specs to a Series S.

Of course, it's entirely possible🐻 that Game Science has found a way to get the game running as optimally as possible on a Series S. Only time will tell, however, if that's the case. But for now, it looks like the game will at least see its moment on Microsoft's flagship console.
