This fight will determine whether you're ready for all thi🌠s game has to offer or not: a trial of all the basics you've learned up to this point. Remember your training, and invest all the Sparks you've gathered. The time to start unraveling the plot and growing your strength has finally come.
How To Prepare For Black Bear Guai
Black Bear Guai is the first boss you should start planning for.
For Black Bear Guai, we recommend observing the following smart investments:
- Increasing your Mysticism points.
- Investing in combat stance skills.
- Purchasing potions, primarily Body-Cooling-Powder, for combat consumption.
The first will shut down Guai's wind attacks🦩 in the second phase, the second will ensure your damage output, and the final bit will keep your clothes from lighting aflame while you're focusing on the fight.
We also recommend equipping t𒐪he Guangmou Qi Summon as the second phase of this fight will have an immunity to the Burning status effect.
Black Bear Guai Attacks And Combos
Although this is technically the second phase of Black Wind King's fight, Black Bear Guai has his own mini-second phase with a few new attacks and flashy fire effects.
His moveset is almost entirely separate from the king, meaning you should treat him as his own boss with the exception of one attack: Black Wind.
As with the previous fight, you can shut down this attack with your Immobilize spell.
Most of his attacks in general are lumbering, and you'll notice he has a bit of a blindspot behind him. It can only be reached b💜y his Reverse Side Driver.
With the exception of his dangerous and sudden backflop, you'll want to study the following attacks for optimal success:
- Fire Burst
- Fire's Fury
- Windy Descent vs. Windy Leap (know to spot the difference)
How To Defeat Black Bear Guai
Black Bear Guai is a difficult fight for the sheer amount of damage 💦he can dealꦺ in return for the little bit of damage you can deal to his massive healthpool.
There is no special gimmick to Guai, only a mastery of the spe♌lls and resources you've🐼 been given in the first chapter. So, it's time to practice.
The first thing you'll want to note is that Guai is only immune to Burning during his second phase. This means, you'll want to open fairly soon with your transformation to get the most of it.
This can take a massive chunk of Gaui's health to leave you fresh for the mꦫore spectacular second phase.
We ♐also recommend doing your Qi Summon early due to its summoning time. Guai's second phase has a lot of long coverage moves with lunges and leaps, so it's easier to safely get your Qi Summon on the ground without a trade.
As mentioned above, Guai is also susceptible to camping behind himꦜ wit💝h the caveat of a single move. Use this time to build up your Focus Points.
With Focus Points built up, prepare a Smash or Strong Jump attack to land some mass💎ive poise damage, staggering Guai out of dangerous moves to open the window for more combos.
The best combo openings from Guai to build up your Focus Points are:
- Windy Leap
- Windy Descent
- Roaring Stomp
- Ground Slam
During his transition to his second phase, it was generally safer to keep our distance from Guai and prepare a Body-Cooling-Powder for the influx of fire coming. Trying to damage Guai during this time mo൲re often led to burns and moderate damage.
As the second phase began, saving our Mana allowed us to prevent himও from entering his 𓆉Black Wind attack, creating large openings for damage.
As general tips go for those struggling with Guai:
- Use Cloud Step to heal and apply powders for damage negation. Don't attempt to strike until you've ensured your defenses are solid; you have more time than you think.
- Conserve Mana by being stingy on spells during the first phase. The more you can save for Immobilize in the second phase, the better.
- Never panic-backpedal from Guai, especially in the second phase. If you must panic dodge, you'll be safer rolling forward as his leaps will catch backpedalers.
- Don't let your Focus Points sit around unused. Strong attacks are a must for this fight; Guai will outlast your weak attacks.
- If you need to stun him quickly, a Strong Jump Attack with full Focus Points will do the trick faster than a Smash.
With much tenacity and focus, you'll eventually put the bear down and be rewarded with a plethora of boons, including:
- x990 Will
- x1
- x5
- x2
- x1 Yaouguai Core
- x1
- x1
