Right now, the studio is busy with its space RPG Starfield — the first new IP in 25 years for the company. Then, there is the hotly-anticipated Elder Scrolls 6, for some 🧸reason officially 🐷announced over three years ago. There is also a conceptual idea for Fallout 5 at the studio. "Fallout's really part of our DNA here," Howard says. "We've worked with other people from time to time – I can't say what's gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do."
Sounds like Bethesda already has Fallout 5 planned for itself, yet Howard didn't mention any particular details. "It's part of who we are, it's what we love about games. With Fallout 76 [...] the amount of people that want to play it as a solo experience is very, very strong," he added. But he said, "Our cadence is Starfield and then Elder Scrolls 6," so we'll have to wait.
Sounds like we won't hear about the next mainline Fallout game for several more years. As for other Bethesda games, Starfield is currently scheduled for 11 November 2022 and The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in the early stages of work and also years away.
