This time, for real, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077 is finally fixed. All of the problems we ever had with the game are over once and for all, as long as those problems weren't inconsistent themes of dystopia, the lack of wall-running, the lack of third-person view, the lack of role-play options, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the permanently shut doors, or the restrictive and linear mission design, your problems are solved. I assume your problems were that you hated the skill tree, loved to swim in very small pools of water, and wished you could kinda shoot people badly while driving. Cyberpunk 2077 is better than ever, but it feels like that means it’s the best we're going to get. If you want to love Cyberpunk 2077 you will find reasons to here, but you probably found them at launch too. As ever, the best way to play is to rebel.
I beat on, back against the current, to struggle to the end of Cyberpunk 2077 at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its original, infamous launch. At a rate of one blue screen roughly every 25 minutes (and that's playing on PS5), hoo-boy was it a struggle. But 25 hours later (that math makes for 60 full crashes in one playthrough), I made it to the end. I didn't care much for my ending, or much in the game at that point, but I had made it. Feet bloody, drenched in sweat and dehydrated, I crossed the finish line. Not too long after, an update was released that stablised the worst crashes. It didn't fix much else, but it was an empty holiday season as the pandemic and the console launches combined for a release drought, so I got back in the boat and started rowing again.
The currents were gentler this time. There may have been a crash here or there, and one mission bugged itself out so much it became impossible to complete, but I was able to get through it a little easier. And despite still not being sold on the game as a whole, I got through every square inch of it. Every Cyberpyscho, every side quest, even every tarot card collected. I soaked up Cyberpunk 2077 until it was in my blood. It's a short leap from that to understanding why some love it so absolutely that its many obvious flaws melt away. But I was only able to enjoy it by rebelling against what the game wanted me to be and to do, and that's how it goes with 2.0 and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Phantom Liberty too.
Cyberpunk 2077's biggest draw has always been its wardrobe. That's the entire reason I went back and played. It was incredibly ridiculous that in a game literally called 'Cyberpunk' you couldn't so much as customise your haircut at launch, and even now in its perfect state you are restricted to one body type, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:your genitals don't influence sex scenes (Judy's and Panem's in particular are very specifically tailored to cis bodies), and there is no aesthetic body customisation at all beyond tattoos, eyeballs, and lipstick. However, despite these restrictions, Cyberpunk 2077's photo mode, Night City's creative backdrop, and the variety of mission types and backgrounds you discover along your way means 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:playing it as a fashion simulator was the thing that k😼ept me going for my 100-hour strong second playthrough.
There's still a trace of that in 2.0 and Phantom Liberty. We get a lot of extra clothes - 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:but limited shoes - and missions in Phantom Liberty feature specialised outfits that are highly stylish. Into the bargain, it also restricts photo mode options a lot more than the base game, but yo𒉰u can still dress V up and paint the Dogtown red.
However, it's not just through this option that you can rebel against what the game wants from you. Dogtown is a dreary place. All of the characters you meet are miserable in one way or another. V's fate, and inevitable slow death, is at the forefront of every interaction, even more than in the base game. It feels like it should be played right at the end of your playthrough because it is drowning in the same melancholy V succumbs to as her main quest reaches its dying embers. Going back specifically for Phantom Liberty, as the vast majority who play it will do, feels jarring. My memories of Cyberpunk 2077 are not defined by the last five hours of misery, and that is what Phantom Liberty is based on.
If you're playing it, I encourage you to branch out a little. Sweep up any regular side quests you haven't done yet. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hunt down the gamer girl's bathwater. Live a little. There's fun to be had in Cyberpunk 2.0, but Phantom Liberty is consumed by heartbreak, betrayal, and darkness. Before you dive back into the ice-cold ocean, spend some time on the warm sand.
