Lara Croft ha🅠s been on a lot of adventures throughout the Tomb Raider series, but it's ti༺me to find out just which ones were her best.

With Tomb Raider 1-3: Remastered now out, it's time for us not to just revisit Lara's old adventures but also the foes and friendly faces that were involved. From the upscaled cutscenes and wider player base, more people will appreciate these characters and what they add to the story.

8 Pierre DuPont 🎶 🍌

A Rival Treasure Hunter

Pierre Dupont from Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered shooting

One of the more infamous characters from the classic series of Tomb Raider who appears in two games is Pierre DuPont. This Frenchman is a rival treasure hunter working for the first game's villain, Jacqueline Natla. Although he's an interesting idea for a character, unfortunately, due to the limitations of the first game he doesn't actually appear in a cutscene.

He's more so just an enemy that appears several times throughout the Paris levels and taunts Lara, before he's eventually killed. So he doesn't get much screentime to really shine (especially compared to the remake of Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Anniversary).

7 Larson Conway ܫ

The Southern Mercenary

Larson from Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered shooting a pistol

The first character that we actua𓆉lly hear from in the entire Tomb Raider series is none other than Larson Conway. This southern sounding mercenary is the person who introduces Lara to Jacqueline Natla and thus set in motion the events of the first game. He later confronts Lara after she gets the first piece of the Scion leading to an iconic cutscene where she beats him down.

He's a fun little character and only goes ahead of Pierre mostly because unlike the latter, Larson actually gets some cutscenes and character which is always a plus.

6 🐼 🏅 Dr Mark Willard

The Mad Scientist

Dr Mark Willard talking to Lara in Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered

Tomb Raider 3 certainly takes the series in a different direction, allowing you to choose wh𒆙ich level you go to before playing as Lara attempts to find meteori🌱c artifacts all over the globe. Mark Willard is an excavationist who comes across Lara during an adventure in India where she finds the first artifact and hires her to find the others.

However, after Lara finds all the different artifacts, she learns that Mark planned to use the artifacts to experiment on the entire global population. Although he isn't a totally 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:memorable villain, the twist and his ruthlessness is shockꦇing. He also becomes a terrifying boss battle after using the artifacts on himself.

5 🐠 Sophia Leigh 🧜

A Ruthless Businesswoman

Funnily enough it's one of the minor antagonists of Tomb Raider 3 that is a little more interesting. Sophia Leigh only appears in one cutscene and boss fight, but she definitely has an interesting background. The head of a cosmetics company, she uses her artifact, The Eye of Isis, to prevent herself from aging.

The setup for the villain is far more interesting, as Lara encounters a group known as The Damned — people who have been experimented on by Sophia — and Lara even encounters a hit man hired by Sophia to kill her. When finally confronted, she's confident, sassy, and clearly evil. The villain also returns in Tomb Raider: The Lost Artifact, an expansion to Tomb Raider 3 also included in the remastered collection.

4 Marco Ba💃rtoli 🅰

The Leader Of A Cult Obsessed With An Ancient Chinese Artifact

Marco Bartoli of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered standing and holding a dagger

From one villain to another, Marco Bartoli emphasises everything that is Tomb Raider 2; darkness, grit and violence. The leader of a cult obsessed with an ancient⛎ artifact known as the Dagger of Xian𝐆, a relic born of war with the power to transform anyone who stabbed their heart into a mighty dragon, once used by an emperor to invade lands throughout China and beyond.

Although we don't see Marco Bartoli much, he still leaves an impression throughout the game, being an intimidating villain who sends hordes of cultists after Lara and transforms into a dragon, creating one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most terrifying enemies in the Tomb Raider series.

3 Winston

Lara's Loyal Butler

Winston the butler from Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered standing by a wall

Ah, Winston, famously known for being locked in the freezer. Although not muc🌠h is known about him besides being an old butler at the beck and call of𓃲 Lara, he does later become a staple throughout the series appearing in other games from Tomb Raider: Chronicles to Tomb Raider: Legend.

Tomb Raider is known for its grand adventures and iconic heroine, but sometimes Lara Croft🎃 delves into adventures that can be as dark as her tombs.

Although not too much is known about the character, the introduction of the butler in the second game alongside Croft Manor has created a core memory for a lot of players and locking him in the freezer has been a funny meme for gamers for decades, he can't not be on the list.

2 💮 Jacqueline Natla ಞ

One Of Lara's More Menacing Villains

Natla from Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered standing in a temple

Perhaps the best villain not only in the first three Tomb Raider games but perhaps of the entire series, Jacqueline Natla is as sharp as her name. Once a ruler of Atlantis, she was imprisoned for her experiments on the populatio♋n. After a nuclear test freed her from imprisonment, she would later return to the world as a businesswoman for a technology conglomerate.

She hires Lara Croft to find pieces of an ancient Atlanten artifact known as the Scion, hoping to use it to power a remnant of Atlantis and begin her experiments again, this time on the human race. Witty, cold, and downright ruthless, she's perhaps the only villain who can go toe to toe with Lara in both power and intellect.

1 🌳 Lara Croft ♊

The One And Only Tomb Raider

Lara Croft holding her dual pistols in Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered

Perhaps the most well-known female video game mascot of all time, Lara Croft is truly a one of a kind. It was the fans' love of Lara that truly helped elevate the series to where it is now. No matter what iteration of her is available, she has always garnered acclaim for her sharp wit, smart ways, and badass feats, whether she's saving the world or slaying a T-Rex.

Lara has only been further humanised in later games, but the original trilogy still shines with the smooth voicework of Shelley Blond and Judith Gibbins bringing a one-of-a-kind sass to Lara's lines that you can't help but love. Whether it's her beauty, brains, or, for most fans, both, Lara is undeniably one of the best modern-day heroines with an impressive series to show for it.
