The world of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bayonetta is loosely inspired by that of the Divine Comedy; rather than being a singular reality upon which all events are staged, it is actually made up of three separate realities, one of which contains seemingly infinite permutations. The interactions between these realms set the stage for thꦆe overarching story of the series, as well as provide the motivations for its characters.

These realms are collectively known as the Trinity of Realities, and it is their wars, alliances, and denizens that set up the power system of both the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages, as well as other dangerous actors dwelling somewhere in between. To make these interactions clear, let's dive deep into what makes up the Trinity of Realities.

The First Armageddon

Aesir Bayonetta 2

In a time before time, the Trinity of Realities did actually exist as a singular whole. Of course, any reality that's forced to play home to Angels, Demons, and Humans all at the same time is unsustainable, to put the matter lightly. Through an Armageddon event, the precise details of which have been lost to time, reality was fractured into the Trinity. Angels took ownership of Paradiso, the land of light, Demons laid claim to Inferno, the depths of darkness, and humanity w🐻as left floating in the chaos in between.

In this early time, humanity was a bit on the simple side, entirely lacking in free will, let alone higher mental faculties. The deity that oversaw their realm, Aesir, took pity on humanity, and decided to use his vast wellspring of power to free them from their metaphorical shackles. Aesir blessed humanity with free will, then split his powers into the Right Eye of Light and Left Eye of Darkness. These Eyes were granted to two clans of humans that would go on to become the Lumen Sages and Umbra Witches, respectively, using their newl𒈔y obtained wisdom to guide humanity toward prosperity.

Paradiso, Realm Of Angels

The realm of light, Paradiso serves as the home of the Hierarchy of Laguna, the members of which are commonly known to humanity as Angels. 🌳Par𒆙adiso is an ephemeral paradise composed of floating, verdant islands bathed in a perpetual warm light. The members of the Hierarchy of Laguna champion the power of order above all else, believing themselves to be arbiters of peace and justice in the Trinity. Those that lead virtuous lives, particularly the Lumen Sages, are guaranteed a spot in this paradise after death.

Ironically, between the two, Angels are actually a bit more conniving than Demons. Their obedience to their Hierarchy and pledge to order makes them believe they have a quite literally God-given right and obligation to preside over all realities. This is why they will employ all manner of underhanded plans to get what they want: the power to corral the Trinity and its denizens under their banner. To this end, the Hierarchy regularly seeks to revive its highest power, the Dea, Jubileus the Creator, rendered dormant ago in an inter-realm war.

Inferno, Realm Of Demons

On the flip side, Inferno, the realm of darkness, is home to the Infernal Demons. Inferno is, in the plainest terms, hell. Inferno is a chaotic, desolate place whose form never quite seems to remain fixed. It is made up of a variety of regions, from frigid fjords of sub-zero snow to cursed, bloody forests full of screaming trees. Inferno is, unfortunately, where the majority of departed souls end up, doubly so if you're 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:an Umbra Witch. A stipulation of the demonic contracts that give the Umbra their magic is that their s🌱ouls are destined for Inferno upon death, no exceptions.

Due to their chaotic and bloodthirsty nature, Demons are governed more by simple power and give-and-take rather than an established hierarchy. Inferno does technically have a ruler in the form of the powerful Queen Sheeba, but much like Jubileus, Sheeba's whereabouts and exact sphere of influence isn't clear. In the absence of a clear authority, Demons will instead cling to whatever scraps of power they can get, mostly content as long as they can fill their bellies. This is why Demons don't usually go out of their way to grasp at power like Angels do, though they may still make an attempt if a clear opportunity presents itself.

The World Of Chaos, Realm Of Humanity

Isla Del Sol Bayonetta

In between Inferno and Paradiso lay the unnamed World of Chaos. Thanks to the powers of the Eyes, humanity has thrived, achieving levels of indust♐ry and prosperity that no one could have predicted. However, even with free will, human souls are very much vulnerable to influence from the other realms. Both Angels and Demons are naturally attracted to emotions emanating from a soul, with Angels seeking out positive, virtuous feelings and Demons hunting down vice and hatred.

Due to the influence of the other realities, there are parts of the world that are naturally more attuned to one reality or another. The island city-state of Vigrid, for instance, was once the domain of the Lumen Sages, and as such, all of its denizens are fervent believers of the powers of Parad🐈iso. This is a deliberate ploy by the Hierarchy of Laguna, as having a foothold in the World of Chaos allows them to seek out the Eyes. While both the Lumen and Umbra are long gone, the Eyes still exist, as do the power they carry. Should an Angel or Demon obtain both of the Eyes, they would have enough power to reshape the Trinity as they see fit.

Purgatorio And The Multiverse

Bayonetta in Purgatorio in Bayonetta 2

Much like the folds of an accordion, there exist many subtle folds within the boundaries between the Realities. One such fold is a realm known as Purgatorio, existing ever-so-sl💎ightly to the side of the World of Chaos. Angels and Demons, as well as those contracted to either, can slip into Purgatorio at will, technically still existing in the world, but becoming imperceptible to normal humans. Itಞ is here that both Angels and Demons conduct their various businesses in influencing and manipulating humanity.

However, the folds go much deeper than that. The World of Chaos, while technically still one realm, as actually made up of an entire multiverse of timelines and permutations stacked on top of each other. These timelines are separated by an immense abyss known as Ginnungagap, but it can be surmounted with sufficiently powerful magic and ingenuity. The true power of the Eyes is actually divvied up between these many timelines; the power of the Eyes in just one timeline is massive, but if the power from every possible timeline were united all at once, it would be enough to not just reshape the Trinity, but wipe it out altoge൲ther.

The world of Bayonetta is chaotic, to say the least, with founts of magical power seemingly cropping up all over the place. It's for this reason that Bayonetta herself, as the last remaining Umbra or Lumen, fights to preserve some semblance of balance between the realms, if only so she doesn't lose her favorite Sunday shopping spots.
