168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the latest game from developer Don't Nod, is out tomorrow. We already knew it was a spiritual successor to the studio's 2018 release, Vampyr, but its connection to the game was never made completely clear. After all, this could have meant it's set in a different universe entirely. Yet we now know that this is not the case.

As noticed by our reviewer 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Joe Parlock, it's undeniable that Banishers is a prequel to Vampyr. This is thanks to a text log Joe found later in the game, confirming that it's set a few hundred years before the events of Vampyr.

This confirmation comes from a log that mentions Vulkods, a type ⛎of vampire found in Vampyr. Check the text out for yourself below.

The Vulkods of Roanoke

It's been almost six years since the launch of Vampyr, so it's nice to see that it's not at all forgotten. It's also neat that Banishers is much more than a spiritual successor to Don't Nod's hit, and opens up the opportunity for us to get more games in this universe.

Despite this shared universe, Banishers has a very different premise than Vampyr. Here, you're playing as two characters - Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith - and they're ghost hunters, not vampires. Both titles are third-person action role-playing games though, so fans of Vampyr shouldn't find this to be too much of an adjustment.

If the name of the developer doesn't sound familiar, you might know it better as Dontnod. This was the name it was under when it developed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Life is Strange. It changed the spelling to Don't Nod in 2022.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden launches on February 13. It will be available on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xbox Series X/S, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation 5, and PC. It's not known if we'll be getting a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch port, but Vampyr did get one a year after its initial release, so it's a very real possibility. Or, we can at least expect it to be ported to whatever Nintendo's main console will be next year, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:since Switch 2 rum🎃ours are floating around.

Don't Nod might be best known for older hits like Life is Strange and Vampyr, but it's been incredibly busy in the years following the games that put it on the map. Last year, it developed and published Jusant and Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. After Banishers, we're getting Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, another game that it's self-publishing. Banishers, on the other hand, is published by Focus Entertainment.
