After months of rumours, Bam has been confirmed🥂 as a secret skater for Pro Skater 3+4.

It’s been rumored that Tony Hawk himself convinced Activision to include him in the new remaster, though when previously interviewed, Margera said𓆏 he believed the deadline to add him as a playable character had already passed. Speaking with Margera at a pre-release event for Tony💎 H🙈awk’s Pro Skater 3+4 today, he confirmed Hawk did in fact speak with Activision about adding him in at the last minute.

“My Passion Is Back”

Margera’s inclusion in the new Pro Skater remaster is especially meaningful because it reflects the reignited passion he’s fಞound for skateboarding. The 45 year old reality TV pioneer tells me he took a long hiatus from skating while exploring a music career; a lifestyle which contributed to his decades-long struggle with alco⛎holism.

“I joined a rock band, we did a whole world tour, and with rock and roll comes all the other stuff,” Margera says. “In 2013, my doctor declared my legs dry, rotten rubber bands from alcohol abuse. He asked me to reach down and try to touch my toes, and my hamstring popp෴ed. I really thought that I would not return to skateboarding because of that.”

Margera credits his wife Dannii Marie, a model and self-described , with helping him get back into skating shape. He says the coup⭕le stretches together daily for an hour. “My legs are pretty much like 100 percent again,” he saysꦕ. “And I skate every day. My passion is back.”

Reconnecting With Tony Hawk

Margera’s relationship with Hawk has not been on the best terms in recent🔜 years. “I didn’t speak to Tony Hawk for about a year,” he explains. “And the last time I saw him I was kind of, um, you know, not doing too goo💮d, if you know what I mean.” Margera has dealt with a number of setbacks over the last few years, including , and in 2023, .

Margera, who has been on a sobriety journey over the last year, says Hawk recently invited him to skate. “He told me to come down to the vert ramp because he was skating with Bucky [Lasek],” he says. “And we ended up ollieing over each other on the channel.” Hawk wꦐas floored to see Margera back in skating form, and when Margera informed him he was skating every day, he says Hawk was inspired to pick up the phone. “I think he made a call to Activision when the deadline was pretty much done and made it happen for m𝓡e,” he says.

Margera says he regrets giving up skateboarding for so long. “I kind of forgot to stick to my roots,” he explains. “Skateboarding is wh🍸at got me to where I was, a🏅nd I was really bummed that I stopped for all that time.” He says skating every day helps him feel like he’s making up for lost time.

Margera made an appearance earlier today at Complex LA in West Hollywood for a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 early access gaming lounge. The pop-up event featured several stations where fans could play the new remaster early and compete on the leaderboard for a chance to win a ✤free copy of the game. It also included photo-ops and a design-you-own finger board experience where ♉attendees could build a custom finger board and then take it for a test ride in a giant skate park. Margera spent the afternoon autographing copies of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 for and other merch for excited fans.
