This was just confirmed by Larian CEO Swen Vincke during a talk at GDC. While this doesn't necessarily mean the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur's Gate series is on ice again🎃, i🐷t does mean that Larian is stepping away from it, with its next project being part of another IP.

Vincke followed up by clarifying that another Baldur's Gate is still possible, it will just be helmed by another studio. He said that the future of the series is in the hands of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wizards of the Coast, so it ✅will be up to the rights holders to decide w🍷hich developer it works with next.
Announcing the news, Vincke acknowledged how surprising many of us would find this, as he's aware that everyone expected Larian to stick with Baldur's Gate. However, he added that it was time for something new, rather than another game that uses an IP that another company owns.
Larian was the second developer to release a mainline Baldur's Gate entry. The first two games in the series were developed by BioWare before it went on to create Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
We already know that Larian is in the early stages of planning i🔯ts "next big game&q꧃uot;, but we now know that, despite our assumptions, this is not Baldur's Gate 4. It's possible that Larian is instead returning to its own long-running Divinity series, especially now that it can bring its new fans from Baldur's Gate 3 along for the ride. The last game in the series was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Divinity: Original Sin 2, which launched in 2017, so fans of the CRPG have been waiting almost seven years for another in💯stalmen♋t.
On the bright side, Vincke shared back in January that he'd already sorted out the first act of Larian's next project. That does mean we're very far off from seeing anything that looks like a game, but it at least confirms that Larian has a good idea of what it wants to do next, looking beyond the success of Baldur's Gate 3.
Larian is also still supporting Baldur's Gate 3 with updates, whether it be adding new content or removing bugs. Vincke didn't say anything about these slowing down following today's announcement, so we still have those huge patches to look forward to for now.
