If you've managed to slink past him to examine the remains of his murdered friend, you'll find that it's missing a rather vital part: the skull. To lay her to rest — and, more importantly for some, access her loot — you'll need to complete her skeleton. Thankfully, the skull's hidden not far away at all. Here's how to find it and help poor Sarin move on.

Where Is Sarin's Skeleton

Baldur's Gate 3 - Player speaking to Aelis, a draconic sorcerer

Sarin's skeleton can be found in the sewers of the city of Baldur's Gate. Though we have a comprehensive guide detailing all of the sewer entrances, the nearest entry point to Sarin's skeleton is the manhole near the Blushing Mermaid in the Lower City, at coordinates (X:-163, Y:-63).

Once you've gotten into the sewers, walk west for a short distance until you encounter a menagerie of grease elementals and mephits. This is where you'll come face to face with the mad sorcerer, Aelis Siryasius, who will be𝄹gin to accuse you of being an Absolute cultist.

To avoid a fight here, you'll need to pass a DC 18 Persuasion, Intimidation, or Deception (Charisma) check to prevent Aeli🅠s 𒈔from unleashing his greasy minions upon you.

Beyond Aelis, you'll be able to find an open casket with the body of Aelis' friend, Sarin, inside.

Where To Find Sarin's Skull

Baldur's Gate 3 - Finding Sarin's Skull in the Undercity Ruins

When you interact with the skeleton of Sarin, you'll quickly notice that it has no skull, and that you need to insert something into the casket. Needless to say, the item you'll need to insert is her skull.

From where you found Sarin's casket, head straight north through a door, then keep going until you reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint at (X:-146, Y:938).

To the left of the waypoint, you'll find a merchant named the Voiceless Penitent Trader (X:-157, Y:943). Sarin's skull can be found in the pouch directly behind him.

The trader will get mad if he sees you rifling through his stuff! Use𝔍 a character with high Stealth, or an invisibility potion or spell to make sure that you grab the skull unimpeded.

When you pick up the skull, a Headless Ghost will appear and start to somewhat comically fumble around you, trying to follow you around. This apparition is completely harmless, and you don't have to worry about it.

The following video will show you exactly how to get to Sarin's skull from Sarin's skeleton:

At this point, you can return to Aelis, who is attempting to conduct a ritual near Sarin's casket. Be warned if this is your second time returning, he will immediately become hostile.

On your way back to Aelis, stay to the right of the path to find a Loose Stone, where you'll be able to find some gold, various alchemical reagents, and an Incomplete Journal that sheds more l💖ight on what happened between Aelis and Sarܫin.

Tips For Fighting Aelis

If a fight becomes inevitable between ജyou and the mad sorcerer, here are some things to look out for:

  • As a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer (Red Dragon), Aelis is resistant to fire damage.
  • He is also resistant to necrotic damage.
  • He heavily utilizes fire spells, and his spells scale with his hefty Charisma score of 21.
  • He has the Freedom of Movement passive feature, preventing him from being slowed by difficult terrain or crowd-controlled by Paralyzed or Restrained effects.
  • He regains hit points upon killing a creature with a spell — necromancy wizards, rangers, and other summoner classes will want to take extra care to avoid letting him heal off of your summons.
  • He deals fire damage to any melee attacker, as well as any nearby enemy within 7ft of him.
  • The ground is covered in flammable grease that will create an area-of-effect explosion when in contact with fire or fire damage.
  • On the other hand, the grease elementals, mephits, and greaseballs that fight alongside Aelis are vulnerable to fire damage.
    • You can utilize the flammable grease on the ground and area-of-effect fire spells, such as Fireball, to pick them off in hordes.

Aelis has a +2 Quarterstaff, and the Cindermoth Cloak, a cloak that deals area-of-effect fire damage to anyone who gets too close to the wearer.

It's a great item for frontliners who are always in the fray!
