One of the coolest things from the original Baldur's Gate games was their implementation of the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset into a video game.
Seeing your character cast Magic Missles at enemies in a virtual setting is incredibly exciting. From the footage shown of Baldur's Gate 3 thus far, the action economy of bonus actions and main actions seems intact and well thought out. Dice rolls are still paramount in this game, just like the tabletop version. Players get to see awesome executions of enemies when they score a critical in combat, and the game will show their dice rolls when making a persuasion check in dialogue. It is shaping up to be the closest interpretation of D&D's 5th edition ruleset a video game has seen yet.
5 Worried: Dialogue ♛
While Larian has done fantastic work with turn-based combat in Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, the way they handle dialoguꦓe isn't the same as BioWare's older tit📖les.
Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 had plenty of options for players to choose from in dialogue, ranging from sarcastic to stoic or downright evil. In Divinity: Original Sin 2, most characters are rather snarky or sarcastic, lacking the typical cRPG characters you'd come to expect. The heroic Paladin, the dumb-but-charming Barbarian, or the mysterious Wizard are missing in Original Sin. Hopefully, they can do the older characters justice with Baldur's Gate 3.

While Origin characters exist to let newcom♛ers get right into the action, the ability to fully create a character from scratch and rolepla🥀y them is very exciting.

Of course, creating your own character lets you roleplay whatever you want, but if the Origin characters are that distinct then perhaps those options will be available for custom characters. If all of D&D's Skills and Attributes are in Baldur's Gate 3, th🍸ey'll be tons 𝓡of dialogue options to roleplay whoever you want.
3 Worried: Similar to Divinit𒈔y
If you go on the Baldur's Gate subreddit or most social media platforms, you will notice a massive divide between players in how Baldur's Gate 3 looks and plays.
Why is that? The game looks incredibly similar to Divinity: Original Sin 2. It is no surprise that the developers of that series would replicate some of their design with their next project, but fans are divided on if Baldur's Gate 3 should have so much in common with Larian's series of games. Both Baldur's Gate titles were real-time with pause, allowing players to quickly take down weaker enemies in a matter of seconds while still able to strategize with the pause feature.
