New Evil Ending Cinematics
Accompanying the announcement is one of the potential evil endings. The video depicts a group of Baldur's Gate residents submitting to the Netherbrain's domination. The affected people are then seen strolling around a market, overjoyed in blissful ignorance.
This ending is presumably a result of the player deciding they will rule the world using the Netherbrain's power. If this option is chosen, the player's party can be seen cheering, visibly enthralled by the world's new ruler.
The extent of this addition is unknown, but we can theorise which endings are evil and are likely💝 to receive an additional cutscene. A similar ending to the above can occur if the player persuades the Emperor to rule alongside them - the Emperor will betray the player and dominate them and their party members.
The Dark Urge can experience a similar ending if they claim the Netherbrain in the name of Bhaal. Though you'd imagine in an ending where a devout Bhaalspawn rules the world, things would be a tad more violent than in the scene Larian teased.
Larian probably isn't adding additional endings for companions or the studio would have specified. Those looking for a conclusive happy ending for Karlach will have to keep waiting.
