It’s outdated, feeling more at home with games two generations old; the ‘infinite꧃ possibilities’ brought about by its expansive explorable galaxy are shallow, repetitive, and uninteresting; the exploration is less rewarding than the tighter open worlds of Bethesda’s past, and the combat is, as always, a slog, but this time without anything to carry it along.

Half a yea🐼r since its launch, it still reaches 24-hour peaks of over 100,000 players (compared to Starfield’s 7,000), with a bustling community eager to share their findings, falling head over heels with every single character in their diverse party. It’s a game people will be talking about for years, even if it wasn’t built that way.
Baldur’s Gate 3 never set out to be the ten-year RPG spanning generations, whereas 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield did. It shows in the design, with countless empty planets littered across the stars as a sandbox for modders. Hardly the most engaging for your average Joe. Starfield’s empty land is far less personable and inviting - there’s no drive to carve out an identity on a desolate rock, whereas Skyrim’s rich world invited the community to build entire cities, weave new companions into the story, and expand on the lore they wanted to see more of. They weren’t filling space for Bethesda, they were iterating on what they loved.
Baldur’s Gate 3 likewise didn’t leave empty fields for modders to fill, but carefully crafted a world people cared about so much that they wanted to expand upon it. It’s no surprise that it’s one of the most modded games of all time less than a year after it launched, with plans to - as Skyrim did so long ago - 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:bring modding to consoles.
