However, he will die if you choose to kill Isobel or let her get captured. Whatever your plan may be, it s♉eems there's a workaround to have him survive either way – kidnap him.

"He won𝓰't walk back, since he can't path to his original spot, and you have him in a way 🌠more convenient place. For whatever reason, the game makes it so any Tiefling that is still alive by the end of Act 2 just goes to where they usually go, regardless of your choices. So, he'll still be at his shop in Act 3 if you kill Isobel or the Nightsong."
