This was an armed standoff that took place between the Mohawk communities and the Quebec authorities in 1990.

5 Aang

Played By Gordon Cormier

His full name is Gordon Kyle Diez Cormie, and before playing Avatar Aang he was in various high-profile television shows, and many of them were also adaptations. His previous roles include recurring a✃nd supporting characters in Get Shorty, A Christmas Miracle, Lost In Space, and The Stand.

Gordon is also Canadian and was born in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada, and shares both European and Filipino ancestry. In February 2024, he was one of the actors chosen to promote the live-action series in the Philippines, along🍒 with Zuko actor Dallas Liu. As the star of the show, a lot of eyes are on Cormie to carry the plot, and reviews of his performance have been positive.

4 Sokka

Ian Ousely was born in College ൩Station in Texas, and his career started as a Tae Kwon Do 💝blackbelt before he was cast as Robby Corman in 13 Reasons Why, his highest-profile role before taking on the role of Sokka. He also has Cherokee ancestry.

Sokka is everyone's favorite non-bender, and not only because he's the show's main comic relief. His character arc, which includes learning to be a warrior and coming of age as a leader of the Water Tribe, is one of the best and most complete in the whole show. This is why some changes to Sokka in this regard were controversial among the fan base.

3 Zuko

The role of Zuko is a demanding one, and other than Sokka he has the most dramatic arc in the show, eventually turning on his family and teaching Aang the art of Fire bending.

The character of Uncle Iroh has a special place in the hearts of Avatar fans. Zuko's younger sister and the golden child of the Fire Nation royal family, Azula is one of the main antagonists in the Avatar: The Last Airbender saga. Despite her role as one of the dedicated bad guys, she walks a fine line. She played in the Netflix adaptation by Elizabeth Yu, whose previous credits include two films, Somewhere in Queens: Year One (2022) and May December (2023).

The character of Azula barely appeared at all in Book One: Water, which is the first part of the animated series, only being sent after her brother and uncle in the final episode. The narrative in the Netflix version is changed slightly to put her in a prominent role much earlier, making her the driving force behind Zhao's plot instead of the person sent to take up the search after he failed.
