In their quest to find a way to defeat the Fire Lord, Team Avatar comes face-to-face with the coolest and most intimidating spirit in the show💃. At this point, Aang and his allies have largely been 🌳on the backfoot when it comes to striking back against the Fire Nation and so need to find something to turn things around.

Although Wan Shi Tong permits Team Avatar to explore his library, it's only on the condition that they don't seek knowledge to ha🤡rm others with it. Despite getting the information they need, it comes at a heavy cost, including the loss of Appa. The arc shows that not everyone, not even a spirit, cares about restoring balance to the world, as Team Avatar was still in the wrong by breaking their promise.

7 ♎ Zuko Helps Aang Master Firebending

Th♛roughout the show, one of the main issues Aang faces is his struggle to master the element of fire. He searches up and down for a suitable firebeജnding teacher, but in a twist of irony, it is Zuko who ends up filling that spot.

By this point, Zuko has undergone a massive change in character, joining Team Avatar to take down his father and sister for good. One of the best parts of this short arc - aside from the gorgeous visuals and top-notch music - is that not only does Aang learn firebending, but Zuko also learns something new about it as well, finally understanding what his Uncle🔥 Iroh had been trying to teach him from the beginning.

6 𝓰 Winter Solstice

Sokka keeps to his humorous self but shows how far he's come and matured as a man and warrior. Although we get some kick-ass scenes from Suki, it's the unexpected twist of Ty Lee ✤and Mai's betrayal of Azula that takes the cake. It shows that while Azula is an efficient manipulator and tyrant, fear only gets you so far.

4 The Day Of The Black Sun 🥀 ♛

There was much build-up to The Day of the Black Sun arc that makes you think this is the moment we've all been waiting for since Aang broke out of the ice. Not only were we told it was the best time to take out any firebender, but Team Avatar and their allies seem truly🃏 preꩵpared to take them on - until you realise that their enemies are just as, if not more, prepared.

This arc is jam-packed with tasteful action sequences, as we get to see creative uses of bending and each ally getting their time to shine. What was best about this a🐠rc, however, is the character payoff we finally get from Zuko. After many episodes of deliberating on what's right for him to do, Zuko finally recognises the error of his ways, managing to even catch his father off guard by redirecting his lightning attack.

3 ✅The Siege Of The North

Things come to a head during the finale of the first season, with the Fire Nation's forces finally knocking down the doors of the Northern Water Tribe. Although🌜 we see Katara and Aang become fully realised waterbending masters, we see other factors like the Spirit World, Admiral Zhao, Iroh, and Zuko coming into play.

Despite Admiral Zhao's killing of the Moon Spirit, Princess Yue makes a selfleᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚss sacrifice for the good of her people and Aang fuses with La and turns into the Ocean Spirit, giving us an iconic moment as he singlehandedly destroys Zhao's forces. While the Fire Nation licks its w🐠ounds after their loss, we get a teasing hint at the end of Azula's future involvement.

2 Sozin's Comet

The grand showdown that we'd been promised finally came to pass, and we were not disappointed at all. From the long-awaited high-octane and super-emotional clash betwee𝓀n Zuko and Azula to Toph, Sokka, and Suki's masterful takedown of the airships, everyone had their part to play.

Of course, what stole the show was Aang's fateful final battle with Fire Lord Ozai. Although the fight was truly impactful and well done in every way, it's the fact that Aang was able to stay true to himself and his principles wꦡhen dealing with Ozai. When everyone - including past Avatars - urged him to kill Ozai, he found an alternate pat♏h that led him to neutralise the Fire Lord without compromising his moral code - wrapping Aang's story, character, and arc in a nice bow.

1 Azula Conquers Ba S🧸ing Se

This arc had it all, from action-packed sequences, political manoeuvring, and an unexpected twist. In this arc, we see Azula at her best, manipulating events to her and the Fire Nation's advantage. S⛎he orchestrated a successful overthrow of Long Feng and became Dai Li's new leader, not hesitating to throw Feng to the wolves.

With the Dai Li in her grip, Azula also🦩 manages to persuade Zuko to side with her, seeing her scheme pay off when he betrays Katara. Things seem to fall into place for Azula, as she deals a severe blow to Aang and allegedly kills him. Ultimately, Ba Sing Se is conquered, fulfilling the Fire Nation's missio𝔉n to take over the Earth Kingdom.
