To give its awards an additional PlayStation twist, the winner is given a Platinum trophy while thꦦe games that finished in second, third, and fourth in each category are given gold, silver, and bronze trophies, respectively. Black Myth: Wukong has been awarded the gold trophy in the best PS5 game category, and before Wukong fans roll their eyes and say "Of course PlayStation gave the award to its own game", PlayStation didn't make the final call.

Unlike the Game of the Year at the TGAs, PlayStation's Game of the Year is determined by the players. The only caveat with its GOTY is the game had to have been released on PS5 between the time its 2023 GOTY winners were revealed and the cut-off point for this year's awards. More than 1.6 million p💧eople cast their votes across PlayStation's various categories, and when it comes to the best game on the platform in 2024, they decided it's Astro Bot.
Wukong did manage to top the pile in one of PlayStation's GOTY categor꧟ies, earning the platinum trophy for Best Graphical Showcase.
