Astro Bot Review - A Masterpiece, 🤡Not A Museum
This is not just a Greatest Hits album🃏. This is Sony's best game in years.
Jigsaw Piece
As ever, there is one random jigsaw piece not in any level whatsoever. At various points while cruising around space in the Camo Cosmos, a UFO appears and a jigsaw piece pops up behind it. Use the trigger thrusters to chase after it, remembering that going through planets can slow you down. If you miss it, fear n♛ot - just leave the Cosmos and return, and it will evওentually respawn.
Lost Square Void
Four more platforming challenges await in the Camo Cosmos, and even though this is the penultimate zone, it actually has the hardest one of the bunch, so good look. This Void itself isn't much of anything, and has no reward, but it does unlock the four actu🍃al levels below.
Boing Bonanza
This level uses a new mechanic, jumping on fans to spring up in the air and reach new heights. You'll need to do that while avoiding flaming barriers if you want to unlock Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza (now called Like a Dragon), who is also needed for the Deep-Pocket Dragon Trophy.
Follow The Light
In this level, all of the platforms are invisible, so you'll need to jump using the lightbulb to see them, all while avoiding the obstacles. Learning the path ahead so you can react quicker will be key here. At the end, you'll rescue a bot dressed a R4: Ridge Racer Type-4's Reiko Nagase.
Vertical Velocity
To rescue The Legend of Dragoon's Dart (in bot form), you'll need to race up the walls while avoiding and defeating enemies. Like Follow the Light, this one is more a test of memory as to wherꦰe♋ things appear from, so after a little trial and error it should be a doddle.
Splashing Sprint
This is the tough one. It's one of the few levels that requires constant speed, and also needs you to keep your cool as the world burns. The hardest part is when you clear the lava and start to run in a more sidescroll pattern. There is oil on the ground here, and more from the slime monster, so use the duck to spray it away as fast as possible to make it through this one. At the end, Max from Dark Cloud 2 caꦛn be rescued.
Retro Rampage 4
When a meteor flash on the screen, that means stuff is about to go down. And by stuff, we mean the other s-word that we can't say because it's a swear. And by that, we mean unlocking Retro Rampage 4. Careen into this meteor before it disappears, and the level will appear. After that, you'll need to take on this combat gauntlet to unlock Captain Rock from Motor Toon Grand Prix.
Crumble Rumble 4
Get ready to rumble (and crumble), in this fourth of five Crumble Rumble levels. This one is a little different, as the enemy is a floating electric alien. Instead of making it drop, it erases the floor. Luckily, to the right there is a trampoline beneath, so jump on that to get enough height to bash the alien away. Once this is done, you'll rescue SSX's Mac Fraser. To unlock it in the first place, look out for several small asteroids and crash into them all before time runs out.
