Best Ways To Get Silica Pearls

Ark: Survival Ascended: Angler Fish Mount Harvesting Silica Pearls

There are several main ways to obtain Silica Pearls. The following methods✤ are the most reliable, and are ranked in ordꦓer of efficiency.

  1. Harvesting clams in the ocean or rivers
  2. Harvesting the corpses of Trilobites, Eurypterids and Leeches
  3. Looting Beaver Dams

Though you can achieve each of the above by hand, using a mount that specializes in gathering Silica Pearls (even a low level one) will greatly increase your yield by several times over.

Let's dive into the specifics of each method, and how you can perform them safely.

Best Mounts For Collecting Silica Pearls

Ark: Survival Ascended: Player on Angler Fish Mount

Here are the best mounts for collecting Silica Pearls, ranked in order of effectiveness.

  1. Angler Fish
  2. Direwolf / Otter

In order to harvest with the mount, climb on and use the "Attack" button on the source of Silica Pearls. You can do this both to creature corpses and Silica Pearl clams.

Note that though Direwolves and Otters yield the same amount, Direwolves are much more suited to movement on land, while Otters can traverse more easily in water than Direwolves. Since Silica Pearls are commonly found in water, Otters may be a better choice if you're unable to obtain an Angler Fish.

Leveling up Melee Damage on your mount will significantly increase the yield of harvesting!

Harvesting Silica Pearls From Clams

Ark: Survival Ascended: Silica Pearl Clam Underwater

Silica Pearls can be found in the wild in the form of shiny clams as pictured above.

To get the pearls from them without a mount, you can use the "harvest" button without holding anything in your hand. As mentioned above however, using a specialized mount can increase your yield easily by at least five times.

These Silica Pearl clams can be found all over the bottom of the ocean, especially in the northwestern quadrant, near the snowy biome. Swim around on the bottom of the ocean with a mount and you'll find plenty.

Silica Pearls Locations In Early-Game

However, the ocean can be a dangerous place for unprepared survivors, due to threats like large predators, extreme temperatures ꩵand lack ไof oxygen.

If you're looking to nab some good Silica Pearl before you're decked out in scuba gear, you can also find an abundant amount of Silica Pearls at 28, 31.

Dive under the glacial ice to find several Silica Pearl clams. This spot is relatively safe from aquatic predators such as the Megalodon, though you will need to watch for common threats roaming down⭕ from the snow mountains, such as Direwo▨lves.

Harvesting Silica Pearls From Creatures

Ark: Survival Ascended: Trilobyte on Beach

Silica Pearls can also be harvested from the corpses of Trilobyte, Eurypterids and Leeches.

Though they can yield a good amounts of pearls when harvested with the correct mount, they are a less reliable source than clam harvesting as you'll need to hunt them down and they spawn randomly.

Trilobytes

Trilobytes can be found on beaches and coastlines, and are skittish. They will attempt to escape if you hit🉐 them, and pose little꧙ danger.

Eurypterids

Eurypterids can be rarely found at the bottom of the ocean.

Along with the common dangers of the ocean such as aquatic predators, temperatures and oxygen, Eurypterids can also tranquilize you and your mount, which can leave you vulnerable. As they are found at extremely dangerous depths and have a rare spawn rate, Eurypterids are better considered as sources for the more advanced Black Pearls, than a reliable source of S𒐪ilica Pearls.

Leeches

Leeches can be found in swamps, and can latch onto you and cause disease. All things considered, these are not very reliable or safe sources of Silica Pearls, but🌳 are the only༺ sources of Leech Blood, which is used for crafting bait and antidotes.

Harvesting Silica Pearls From Beaver Dams

Ark: Survival Ascended: Beaver Castoroide Dam in Hidden Lake Area

Lastly, Silica Pearls can be harvested from Beaver Dams. That said, Beaver Dams are mai🃏nly a source of Cementing Paste, and only rarely contain Silica Pearls.

Finding Silica Pearls in Beaver Dams should be considered a bonus, and is not reliable enough to be considered a farming method.

Beaver Dams can be found wherever Castoroides (Giant Beavers) spawn, commonly near bodies of water. To loot one, interact with it while standing nearby, but be aware that it will anger any Castoroides nearby.
