One of the most important items that'll most likely force you to get metal is the tools. The amount of resources you can get simply by upgrading to a Metal Pick and Hatchet is quite staggering, and here's everything you need to know about getting the Ingot required to craft them.
Where To Craft Metal Ingot
If you want to start making Metal Ingots, you'll first have to unlock the Refining Forge. The Engram for this structure can only be unlocked after reaching level 20, and here's everything you'll need to build it:
- 40x Fiber
- 65x Hide
- 20x Wood
- 5x Flint
- 125x Stone
Once you have the materials, head over to the crafting tab and place a Refining Forge at your base. The next step is to get some metal and wood. You can easily harvest wood from the trees in the game, but the only way to get metal is through the metal nodes and the river rocks that have curved edges.
You can get some metal from normal nodes while using a Pickaxe, but it's insignificant enough to not count.
Once you have both the required items, you can simply place them in the Forge and light the fire. With time, the wood will convert into charcoal while the metal gets converted into Metal Ingots. However, if you want to use the Metal Ingots to craft other items, you'll also have to build a Smithy, which also unlocks at level 20.
After getting both the structures and some Metal Ingots, your first priority will always be to get the Metal Pick and Hatchet. These items will allow you to farm metal quite ꦅeasily, alloꦺwing you to work towards other metal items faster.
