Camtscha is a legendary large-sized crab that has remained in the Old Ocean for a long time. This boss fight has two phases, making it more memorable than most fights you will fight🤡 until this pꦍoint in the game. This guide explains the boss's location, attack patterns in both phases, and the strategy for beating Camtscha.
Camtscha Boss Location
The Camtscha boss fight is in the Old Ocean. It is a story mission boss encounter, so you cannot miss it. You will eventually reach the boss after fighting Inkerton, the Crab Hunter, in The Unfathom area.
Camtscha Boss Attack Patterns
Phase 1 Attacks |
Description |
---|---|
Stick Slam |
Camtscha has a stick in his left claw. The boss smashes the ground with the stick at Krill's spot and then swipes the stick to hit Krill again. |
Ground Shockwave |
Camtscha slams its right claw into the ground, causing a massive shockwave that originates from the point of impact and goes further away in the room. |
Pincer Slam |
The boss raises one of its right pincers and jams it into the ground. |
Bubble Projectiles |
If Krill stays far from Camtscha, the boss uses his stick to conjure purple bubble projectiles that chase Krill for a short duration. |
Claw Swipe |
Camtscha will swipe the right claw before him, causing small AoE damage. |
Phase 2 Attacks |
Description |
---|---|
Ranged Aggro Grab |
Camtscha rushes towards Krill and swipes one of his right claws to grab him. This attack cannot be parried but easily dodged. |
Close-Range Aggro Grab |
Like the ranged grab, sometimes Camtscha performs the aggro grab at close range only by swiping its right claw at the front. |
Jump Shockwave |
Camtscha will jump and relocate to a different spot in the boss arena. Wherever the boss lands, a shockwave emerges from the point of impact that further spreads throughout the room. |
Three Hit Combo |
The boss uses his pincers and performs two hits at close range, followed by a long-range attack. |
Crab Flipping Strikes |
Camtscha starts this attack by smashing the front pincers into the ground and then hitting Krill with a follow-up attack. After that, the boss flips and vigorously uses all his pincers to strike Krill. This is a very short-range attack, so it is recommended that you stay at a diꦚ𒐪stance to avoid getting hit. |
Two Hit Slams |
If Krill rushes away and constantly maintains distance, Camtscha will dash and slam front pincers into the ground, followed by the same attack again. |
How To Beat Camtscha, The Bleached King Boss Guide
- Recommended Stats: 40 Vitality, 12 Resistance, 55 Attack, 21 MSG, 10 Defense
- Recommended Shell: Champagne Flute
- Recommended Stowaways: Lamprey, Barnacle, Sinker++
- Recommended Adaptations: Royal Wave Level 3
Camtscha is the first boss you encounter in the game, which has two phases. In the first phase, the boss is named Camtscha, the Bleached King, and in the second phase, the name changes to Camtscha, Reborn.
Both phases have stark differences in attack patterns, boss movement, staggered chances, and overall health. Regardless, the overall boss fight is not an easy encounter, and you must level up Krill'🐬s stats, as we recommended above.
Phase One
In Camtscha boss's phase one, the boss does not move and sits on its cracked throne. He has a stick in his left hand that the boss slams and swipes. Camtscha also uses his pincers to unleash various attacks to kill Krill.
The base health of Camtscha during the first phase is low.
Krill's attacks deplete a massive portion of the boss's health. This may sound like winning over the first phase is easy, but since Camtscha hits like a truck, you must dodge its stick slam and ground shockwave attacks.
Wasting Krill's health during the first phase will make beating Camtsc༒ha during the second phase an impossible feat.
Camtscha has a very high stagger meter in the first phase. Breaking the stance is nearly impossible regardless of what light, ❀heavy, or adaptation attacks you land on the boss.
During the first phase, the focus should be on landing light attacks, depleting health quickly, and dodging any incoming attacks from Camtscha so that the boss ꧅battleꦐ transitions into the second phase without costing too much health.
The stick slam attack is easy to predict. Camtscha has it equipped in the left claw, always slams it in front of the right claw, and swipes it back to the left claw position. Krill will not take any damage if you dash away to the right pincers of Camtscha.
Another of Camtscha's attacks involves raising his right claw first and then slamming it into the ground. This short animation gives away the ground shockwave attack, which you can easily avoid by jumping and swimming for a short duration.
You need to ensure Krill stays above the wave; otherwise, he gets hit by it.
Phase Two
The battle tactics must be drastically changed during the second phase of the Camtscha boss fight. That is because the boss becomes much more agile and moves up and about the entire arena.
The faster movement introduces an element of surprise, as you can never guess what👍 attack comes ღnext.
Compared to the first phase, you can easily stagger Camtscha in the second phase.
Since the boss is reborn (as mentioned in the name) and the glaring red exterior indicates that the large-sized crab has no hardness or armor, you can easily build up the stagger bar (yellow bar below health).
Attacking, blocking, parrying, and landing adaptations attacks quickly build the stagger meter. Once you see the health bar flashing with a yellow color borderline, strike Camt🅘scha with a heavy or adaptati𓄧on attack to stagger it.
Drawing parallels with the first phase, the boss has a lot of health in the second phase. You will notice this by the negligible health drain of the boss per hit. That is why it is best to rely on blocking during the second phase.
The battle arena has a lot of shells, such as Detergent Cap, Scrub Aggie, Champagne Flute, Dentures, and Soda Can. The Champagne Flute has 90 shell defense, and you must utilize this to block most of the attacks during the second waste.
Do not waste the Champagne Flute shells in the first phase. Reserve them f🦂or the second phase, as the boss is much more agile and hits Krill frequently.
During the second phase, the two Aggro attack types (visible via a red skull icon above Krill's head) must be dodged at all costs. Otherwise, Camtscha will deplete a significant portion of Krill's health, putting you at a severe disadvantage in the final clutches of the boss fight.
If you have the Scrap Hammer skill unlocked, you can leverage the extra shells on the ground, attach them with the fork (Krilꦉl's main weapon), and swing at Camtscha, ending its life quickly for good.
Unlocking the Scrap Hammer skill will benefit Krill during the second phase. Krill's light attacks🏅 deal little to no damage.
With the said skill, Krill can attach any shell with its fork and swing it like a hammer, dealing much more damage than regular light or heavy attacks.
