What Is Bamboo And How Do You Get It?
Bamboo is a resource, like wood or clay, that is obtained by hitting Bamboo Trees with an ax.
Young Bamboo is a variation of the Bamboo resource that can only be obtained in the Spring. Just like regular Bamboo, you get Young Bamboo by hitting ordinary Bamboo Trees with an ax.❀ It's used in seasonal crafting recipes.
Where To Find Bamboo Trees
When you start an island, it's not possible for there to already be Bamboo Trees on it. To find them, you'll have to a🌺ctually leave your island!
Excluding Harvey's island and other players' islands, there are two ways to get off your island and gather resources:
1. Nook Miles Islands
The Nook Miles Islands are introduced during the natural progression through the beginning of the game. In case you've forgotten, allow us to re𓄧fresh you!
You can purchase Nook Miles Tickets for 2,000 miles from the Nook Stop. When you take a Nook Miles Ticket to the Airport, you'll be able to fly to Nook Miles Islands. Do it as many times as you like.
These are mini versions of your own island that can have new trees, flowers, and more. There's a chance that the Nook Miles Island will be covered in Bamboo Trees! Chop them with an ax to receive Bamboo.
2. Kapp'n's Boat Tours
Kapp'n's Boat Tours are a feature that was added in the Animal Crossing 2.0 update. Kapp'n parks next to your island's pier and, for the meager cost of 1,000 miles, will take you to a small, unique island!
There's a chance that the place where Kapp'n takes you will have Bamboꦕo trees growing. Chop them with an ax to receive Bamboo.
Unlike Nook Miles Islands, you're only able to take a Boat Tour once per day.
How To Grow Bamboo On Your Island
If you want to have access to Bamboo on your own island, without having to go a step past your front door, there arಌe two ways to do that.
The first way is to dig up Bamboo Sprouts when you do visit an island wiඣth Bamboo Trees growing. You'll notice that, next to the trees, there are 'X's like the ones that usually denꦰote Fossils. If you dig them up, you'll receive a Bamboo Sprout that will grow into a Bamboo Tree if you replant it.
The second way is by digging up whole Bamboo Trees and transporting them to your island in yourღ inventory. By eating some food, you'll get extra strength that allows you to dig 🎉up a whole tree! You can bring food with you, eat the Coconuts growing on the beaches on the island, or eat the Bamboo Sprouts that you dig up (which are indeed edible!).
Either way, when you return to your island, you're free to grow Bamboo Trees wherever you like!
