Amnesia has everything you'd want from a horror game. There's extensive lore tied to sci-fi fantasy, ominous atmospheric environments, puzzles, and plenty of unique monsters that set the story's dark tone, some definitely not for the faint of heart. Here are the most bizarre.

10 Manpigs

A split-image of a Wretch Manpig and an Engineer Manpig in front of the protagonist in dim areas.

Manpigs are the primary enemies encountered in the sequel Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. The name may seem comical and sounds close to South Park's ManBearPig, but these creatures have a twisted backstory being the product of main protagonist Oswald Mandus' experiments.

They are badly scarred and bandaged pig and human hybrid mutants serving a Machine needing human sacrifices, of which there are four types, the Wretch and Engineer ones being the most basic. These give chase bipedally, sometimes on all fours, but their ovꦇerall design is the least frightening in the Amnesia games.

9 ෴ Harvester Yasmin

Yasmin's Harvester transformation as she's about to attack Tasi in Amnesia: Rebirth.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Amnesia: Rebirth takes place almost a century after the events of Dark Descent and follows a team going on an expedition in Africa in the exact area where the orb was dis♎covered inౠ the first game. But a downside to their journey, aside from the plane crash,🍃 is an evil Empress that turns humans into ghꦉoul creatures, or Harvesters.

Ya💦smin Chabani was one of the members aboard the flight, though only as a flight attendant and not part of the primary expedition crew. She may not be a monster that chases you in the game, but she stays partially transformed until the ending, which is a uniquely creepy visual different from fully transformed ghouls.

8 Kaernk

Daniel holding a lantern on top of a box as a Kaernk enemy splashes nearby.

The Kaernk is an invisible creature that lives in the water areas of Dark Descent and has a cousin called the Failed Experiments in A Machine For Pigs. However, even though you can't see it, it remains scarier than the ghoulish beings mentioned above. And most of that credit is due to its mechanic, which generates tons of suspense.

The Kaernk is only visible by the splashes and ripples it creates as it moves in the water, and you need to avoid it by jumping around and staying on top of objects while additionally throwing bait to distract it. It's essentially a "floor is lava" scenario that makes traversal around it stressful.

7 S📖ervant Grunts

Servant Grunt Monster chasing the player from Amnesia the Dark Descent

When you think of monsters in Amnesia games, the Grunts are probably the most memorable and pop straight into your mind. They're one of Alexander of Brennenburg's Gatherers and are your first experience with the diminishing sanity meter if you stare at them too long. They tend to be slower at chasing you and, therefore, easier to hide from and outrun.

On the other hand, t🐈heir visual design is as eerie as the ot🀅her monsters found here. Its most noticeable features are the face and extremely long mouth extending down to the chest. Its flesh is sewn in places with stitches and exhibits other deep cuts in the skin, and it has claws in place of fingers on its left hand.

6 Tesla Manpig 🌠

A Tesla Manpig charging at the player behind a cell wall.

The scariest version of Manpig is the Tesla, which carries the least features of its fellow Manpigs, but that's what makes it so terrifying. It's a brute like Bane but with giant bulbs of electricity and circuitry tubing attached to its skin all across the body, including one in its mouth. Its most frightening aspect is the electricity allowing it to teleport randomly, never keeping track of where it goes.

The teleportation effect is cool to witness as the Manpig disappears in a strand of blue lightning, but not so cool when it reappears a🔯nd can kill you quickly. That and its enormous size lunging toward you is more than enough for Osmund to call it a day.

5 ꦅ ♓ Harvesters

Amnesia Rebirth Tasi being chased in the Hunting Grounds by Harvester.

Tragic backstories for Amnesia monsters are a recurring theme throughout the series, none more so than 1🧸68澳洲幸运5开奖网:the expedition members in Amnesia: Rebirt𒉰h. You've seen what Yasmin became, but the rest of the crew has fully transformed into hideous macabre monstrosities known as the Harvesters.

These Harvester forms are almost Wendigo-like creatures with skinny grayish bodies and ferociously sharp teeth, bearing a similar design to those seen in Until Dawn. Their main goal is to extract vitae from their captured victims. And, occasionally, you may stumble u꧅pon a large party of theꦬm as they often nest.

4 Suitors

A Suitor in full view attacking Juliet as she holds a lantern to it.

Suitorꦗs are incredibly creepy monsters that feel like Cenobites from a Hellraiser installment. Their design is intense and grotesque, fully nude gaunt bodies with terrible scars and markings carved throughout their skin, eyes missing, chains digging into their arms and legs, and a metal wheel placed around their necks.

In Amnesia: Justine, Dark Descent's DLC, their backstories reveal they were suitors of the sadistic protagonist Justine, who did this to them for her amusement. Therefore, their vengeance gives them the drive and strength to kill you, as the main character has yet again put innocent souls through agonizing torture and experimentation.

3 🐈 Servant Brutes

A Servant Brute bursting through a door to attack Daniel in Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

The second Gatherer type you'll meet in Amnesia: The Dark Descent is the Servant Brute, which appears as harrowing as it sounds. The Brutes are disturbingly disfigured and mutilated creatures with a face that looks split down the middle, skin arranged in a wavy pattern, and no distinct features aside from a couple of teeth and hidden eyes.

Unlike the Grunts, these come with a weapon in the form of a large blade attached in place of their amputated limb and will kill you in one strike. They're heavy enemies, so they can easily bust down doors and are more relentless in their pursuit.

2 Wraiths

A Wraith attacking Tasi with an object in its hand in a dark room.

Harvesters aren't the only evil forces you'll be acquainted with during your time as Tasi in Amnesia: Rebirth. When sent to the Other World, there are levitating enemies holding orb-like stones as lights to help locate you called Wraiths. And when they search for you, they make dreadful loud noises, which incorporate 168澳洲幸运5🌠开奖网:creepy sound effects into their design.

And just like the Tesla Manpigs, they have the ability to teleport around the environment. If all that wasn't scary enough, their appearance is chilling. These are the spirits of former alchemists of the Other World, whose faces are now nonexistent and made up of striated lines along with tendrils and skin layers that come apart.

1 The Beast

The giant monster in Amnesia: The Bunker roaming toward the player in attack mode.

Amnesia: The Bunker is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:set in the historical period of WWI and brings the horror series to the frontlines. Unlike the previous Amnesia titles, The Bunker only has one sole creature enemy, but it's more than enough because Frictional Games' newest monstrosity is the scariest and biggest one yet. Named "The Beast," it strongly resembles a smaller-scale version of Wolfenstein's Flesh Golem and has long clawlike fingernails and a fiercely wide mouth.

What makes this creature truly intense is that, despite its size, it can move through smaller openings in the bunker's walls and show up unpredictably anywhere, the patterns feeling very similar to the Xenomorph's use of vents in Alien: Isolation. And how it approaches steadily on all fours toward you is pure horror.
