The crew of the Covenant certainly didn't watch The Lost World: Jurassic Park during this scene where they get ambushed by a swarm of David's Neomorphs, picking them off through the long grass. And there's even one Neomorph that emerges out of one of the characters' mouths to add to the carnage.

This scene is preceded by a chain of events aboard their ship that results in it getting blown up, adding to the harrowing chaos. The Neomorphs, though still juvenile in appearance, demonstrate they can be just as lethal as full-grown Xenos with their acid and tails. It's an effective way of showcasing the new enemy, and it introduces David, the android from Prometheus responsible for all this mess and who's posing as a 'savior.'

10 Holloway's Death And Fifield's Deleted Scene

She sets up a surgical procedure to have it removed and locks herself inside the claustrophobic Med Pod.

The creature is now extracted and flailing its tentacles right above Shaw as the Med Pod machine stitches up her opening. Shaw makes it out before the creatu🧸re can do anything and traps it in the Med Bay. You later see this trilobite grow into a large Facehugger-type alien that wraps itself around the last surviving Engineer to create a Deacon.

8 💮 The Engineer Charting A Course For Earth

Probably one of the most shocking questions about the Engineers was answered in Prometheus' climactic plot twist. David awakens a living Engineer, only to find out their real objective is to travel back to Earth and destroy the humankind they helped create by releasing the black goo bioweapons stored on their ship. As David says, "Sometimes to create, one must first destroy."

The Engineer quickly tears off David's head, kills Weyland along with the other crew in the room, and assumes the pilot's seat to plot a course to Earth. Before the Engineer can make it off LV-223, Janek and the remaining co-pilots of Prometheus drive the ship right through the Engineer's to bring it down, sacrificing themselves in the process.

The ༺theme of the Alien universe takes🌟 on a more philosophical tone in the prequels, primarily examining the relationship between creator and creation. This is seen in parallels with the Engineers and humans, Weyland and his androids, and then, more sinisterly, David and his Xenomorph experiments on Planet 4 (the planet he would destroy with the black goo).

Enraged at Billy Crudup's character, Oram, for killing his Neomorph creation, David lays out a trap that latches a more familiar Facehugger onto Oram and creates the Praetomorph chestburster. This scene is perfect for understanding David's point of view, especially the soft music that plays during it and how David interacts with the newborn Xeno by having it copy his motions.

The Alien films offer some of the most memorable endings, but perhaps the most chilling one of the series is Alien: Covenant's final scene. In a twist everyone could see coming, David assumes the identity of the Covenant's android Walter (both played spectacularly by Michael Fassbender) and puts the surviving crew to sleep before assuming command of the ship's Mother system.

The Covenant is a colony ship, however, and was en route to Origae-6 before its stop at David's planet. Therefore, the ship is carrying 2,000 colonists and 1,140 human embryos on board. Adding to the collection, David regurgitates two Facehugger embryos he took with him to join the human ones. You can only imagine what he'd do to so many innocent lives aboard the Covenant, wherever it may go.

The Xeno ends up holding on and Ripley shoots the alien with a grappling hook, forcing it out and then sealing the hatch and using the thrusters to finally finish it off.
