11 Dr. Campbell's Project Nursery Rhymes

If you're wondering what solving all those nursery rhymes around Watery, Cauldron Lake, and Bright Falls is about (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:besides getting bracelet charms), the Witchfinder's Station and Ranger's Station are missable locations that provide some answers. Through emails and official FBC documents from Dr. Euegene Campbell, you unveil they're no different from Alan Wake's manuscripts.

Campbell is the Lead Researcher in the Department of Parafictional Research at the FBC, the key word being "fictional." He heads an experiment called 'Project Nursery Rhymes,' which aims to test the paranatural properties of Cauldron Lake on nursery rhymes (pieces of written fiction) in conjunction with the doll placements to see if they "would become reality."

At the Ranger's Station, Campbell's email reveals there are test sites in Watery, Bright Falls, and Cauldron Lake assigned to assistants, which is why you see them there.

10 Thomas Zane's Backstory

Thomas Zane, a Finnish filmmaker and poet who now appears identical to Alan and is sometimes mistaken for him, was the original artist from Bright Falls embroiled in the Dark Place with his wife Barbara. He's a bit of an unhinged and unreliable character than the more helpful one he was in the first game, and his backstory is laid out pretty well to those less familiar with Zane.

In the original game, Zane's character was portrayed as a man in a diver's suit with light coming out of the helmet, the diver being a character from one of his movies. A portrait of him wearing the suit can also be seen in the Dark Place's Oceanview Hotel in Alan Wake 2. He was a big fan of music in Control, headphones constantly plugged into his walkman as he went about business, but it seems like there's more to it in Alan Wake 2.

Ahti might not be the only janitorial being who can travel between worlds. Posters in the break room feature artwork of Ahti's band, Ahti and the Janitors, as well as posters for Zane's films crediting the music to Ahti and the Janitors. You even see the group perform on stage in Tom Zane's live-action film Yötön Yö (Nightless Night), which strangely feels like it goes beyond fiction into metanarrative and possibly based on actual past events.

Yötön Yö is an actual short film you can watch inside Poet's Cinema after completing Initiation 8 if you wait around and don't progress to the next chapter straightaway. Sam Lake stars as the main character and the film reveals more about Ahti, Thomas Zane, and Baba Jakala, and even has strong parallels to Alan's story and the Spiral.

8 Deputy Thornton Secretly Doesn't Like The FBI's Involvement

The classic police procedural trope where the federal agents take away the jurisdiction of the local police and overstep their authority, much to their disappointment, plays out in Alan Wake 2 as well. Though it may seem like things are fine between Saga, Casey, Sheriff Breaker, and his deputies, they're not too thrilled behind their backs.

This becomes evident if you remain with Mulligan a while longer before entering the opening in the fence to go down and meet Thornton at the crime scene. You'll hear Thornton on the radio asking if the agents are gone, cursing them out as "f-ing out-of-towners," and saying their deputies can handle things themselves. Suddenly, they're not as warm and welcoming as they were moments ago.

7 Barry Wheeler's Role In Alan Wake 2 And His Ties To Control's Blessed Organization

Unlike in the original Alan Wake, where literary agent Barry Wheeler was as much of a main character as Alan, he's not seen in the sequel, though he's not entirely absent from it either. Barry founded the Valhalla Nursing Home and kept in touch with Alice. He's still in the loop of everything happening on the Hollywood side and the supernatural side, even paying a visit to Tammy Booker's publisher with the threat of a lawsuit over her true crime novel about Alan.

You can find this out if you carefully read his email correspondences with Alice Wake in the Dark Place during Initiation 6. The most interesting among them is where he jokes about joining a cult. Barry says he's been to the Blessed Wellness Retreat and that it's run by someone named Chester. This is significant to Control since Blessed is an organization the FBC had their sights on for a while, and Chester Bless is a person of interest and fugitive.

Who Are Tim Breaker's Relatives?

If you didn't play Alan Wake or Control or read a certain Alan Wake comic, this plotline will be hard to thread. Sheriff Tim Breaker is the cousin of the sheriff Sarah Breaker from the first Alan Wake game, and his uncle Frank Breaker has worked for the Federal Bureau of Control under the former FBC Head of Investigations, William Kirklund, whose resignation letter you can find as a collectible in Control.

Night Springs

With the Breakers, it's all tied to Night Springs (also the name of an upcoming expansion for Alan Wake 2), so perhaps these elements will be further explored there. Sarah Breaker uses the code word "Night Springs" as a signal for the FBC in Alan Wake, the comic where it's revealed her father works for the FBC is called 'Night Springs,' and, in Control, there's a file in which the Bureau discusses rebooting the popular show 'Night Springs' "to test paranatural concepts on civilian audiences" (a show Saga's daughter and husband love to watch).

Dr. Casper Darling

Additionally, in the Dark Place, Tim Breaker explains to Alan th🐻at he travels through different re꧋alities in his dreams, describing himself as "a different person with a different name living a different life in a different world" (Jack Joyce, anyone?). In just about every area you visit throughout the game, it's clear Bright Falls has an upcoming mayoral election. There are campaign slogan posters beside tables with banners, pins, food, and US flags. It's for someone named Setter, and these stations are always empty, with the campaign team never present and the character Setter never introduced in the main storyline.

It'll be revealed that Bright Falls' future mayor is none other than a sweet and pettable dog named Setter, perhaps based on a real dog named Duke, who was mayor for four terms in the Minnesota town of Cormorant Village. Breakthrough In The Lake House Manuscript

New Game Plus has many brilliant changes to Alan Wake 2's story along with some extra lore collectibles, and one of those is a new manuscript page providing some additional backstory on Dr. Marmont and the Lake House incident. Titled 'Breakthrough in the Lake House,' it gives you insight into Dr. Marmont's personality and describes what happened to him, though still leaving plenty of mystery to solve for the DLC.

The page reveals that Dr. Jules Marmont is a vain person and no friend of Darling's, who's on the verge of a breakthrough AWE experiment that would place him "in the annals of FBC history." He's running away from something down a corridor, a "wall of darkness," which ultimately ends up consuming him. It sounds like a chilling new investigation for Saga Anderson and Alex Casey.

It's also revealed in Alan Wake 2 that Dr. Marmont and Dr. Campbell had email communications about the progress of Project Nursery Rhymes.

Although the 'Breakthrough in the Lake House' manuscript page shows up under Return 3 in the menu, it can only be found during Return 6. It's waiting for you on the ground near a body in the hallway right after you make your way back upstairs from getting the power on in the morgue.

3 ♚ Alice Wake And The Oldest House

Similarly, if you aren't familiar with or haven't played Remedy's previous title, Control, prior to Alan Wake 2, the mid-credits scene where Alice explains to Alan she's alive may sound even more confusing than it already is. Basically, Alice seems to be working with the Federal Bureau of Control, even saying she visited their HQ in New York called The Oldest House, where the events of Control take place.

Barry confirms this in one of his emails to Alice, referring to the FBC as "creepos." Her visit with the FBC triggered the return of her memories of all the supernatural phenomena that happened to her and her husband in Briꩲght Falls, remembering that Alan is alive and in the Dark Place and choosing to go to it willingly to help him. Maybe the FBC is even monitoring her travel to the Dark Place.

2 Saga's Empathy Toward Deer Is Tied To Her Norse Origins

Like with campaign booths giving you the secret reward of getting to meet and pet Setter, letting Saga pet all the mounted trophy deer heads can also reward you. But when Saga brushes her hand over them, it becomes clear that deer are important to her and that she feels horrible about what happened to them. This is later si🍸gnified by a stag that comes in a vision in the Mind Place when she fights her evil double.

This love and connection to deer is most likely tied to Saga's Norse origins, being Tor Anderson's granddaughter and named 🅠after the Norse God Sága, where her powers as a seer come from. Her daughter Logan is alsℱo infatuated with the book "Nordic Tales and Other Folklore," and deer are very embedde🌱d in Norse mythology, particularly the harts Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr, and Duraþrór that eat branches from the World Tree Yggdrasil.
