Chinese - S-tier

  • Archer's Defense 5%
  • Villager capacity +8
  • Walls Durability +10%

The Chinese civilization is an S-tier starter civilization because of that extra villager capacity. More villagers means more resources, and more resources means faster progress in the early game. You can use villagers to increase reso🀅urce production and build time of v♚arious buildings.

The walls durability is also useful as you might face quite a few attacks once you♌ hit level 10 town and open up your lands to invasio🔥n from other players.

Korean - S-tier

  • Cavalry defense 5%
  • Attack Looting Limit +500,000
  • Resource Storage Protection Rate +10%

The Korean civilization specializes in looting quickly with large cavalry armies. Just like how the extra village capacity in the Chinese civilization can speed up your game, the fast-paced Ko💦rean playstyle is also a way to get resources quickly - this time from exploration missions and other players.

This is made possible by that larger loot limit and storage protection rate, to prevent othe♔r players stealing your bounty.

Japanese - A-tier

  • Swordman's defense +5%
  • Attack against world tribes +10%
  • Attack against player citadels +5%

The Japanese civilization is a solid pick for new players, although it begins to drop off a bit later on because of its pretty small boosts. Early, though, that 10% boost against world tribes is great for getting your exploration rank up and gives you something to do with your idle armie♌s.

Roman - A-Tier

  • Pikemen defense + 5%
  • Healing speed +5%
  • Resource production for buildings +30

The Romans are a decent civilization during the early game, but it's nothing too powerful. The healing speed increase comes in handy later on as you play more of the game, but that resource productio📖n +30 is quite useful to get sꦯtarted.

French - B-Tier

  • Cavalry Defense + 5%
  • Resources Exchange Rate + 5%
  • Gathering Troops Defense + 10%

The French are better ඣused later in the game where that resource exchange rate can have more of an impact - you likely won't be using the marketplace too much when you first start pla൩ying.

Gathering troops defense is an okay boost, but again, this won't be useful until later in the꧅ game.

Byzantines - B-Tier

  • Swordmen's defense + 5%
  • All unit types siege damage + 5%
  • Stone gathering from the world +5%

The Byzantines come with buffs to siege warfare and stone gathering via exploration. Sieg༒e warfare won't be hugely important during your first few days in the game and stone gathering is a minimal buff.

British

  • Archer's defense - 5%
  • Player citadel defense bonus - 10%
  • Mill production - 5%

The British have a very d𝕴efensive playstyle in mind, hoarding food through mill production and exchanging it for other resources. If you're being attacked by a large army, it might maᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚke sense to quickly change to the British for that 10% citadel defense bonus. However, they are a bit slow to get started early on.

Egypt

  • Pikemen's defense - 5%
  • Troop load - 5%
  • Gathering troop unit loss prevention - 5%

Egypt is all about minimizing your losses and improving your gains from gathering in the world. However, this is quite൲ slow at the startꩵ of the game - units don't take very long to heal at the beginning, and you won't have much carry capacity as it is.
